A free, local image editor in your browser sidebar. Crop, paint, add text and export without uploading your images.

Canvas Editor puts everyday image editing in your Chrome sidebar. Open a local image, paste from your clipboard, or right-click an image on a webpage to start editing while you browse. REMOVE SOLID BACKGROUNDS Remove white or solid-color backgrounds from product photos and export transparent PNGs. Undo the result and continue refining when needed. This tool is designed for solid backgrounds, not automatic AI subject detection. CROP, RESIZE AND ADJUST Crop images, change image or canvas dimensions, rotate images 90 degrees, mirror images, and adjust brightness, contrast, saturation and warmth. CAPTURE AND EDIT Capture a region of the current webpage and continue editing it in the sidebar. Crop the screenshot, paint on it, add text, and export it. Protected browser pages cannot be captured. SELECT, PAINT AND ADD TEXT Use rectangle, ellipse, polygon and magic-wand selections. Invert or clear selections, fill with solid or gradient colors, paint, erase, clone details, draw curves with the pen tool, and add aligned text. WORK WITH LAYERS Add image and text layers. Hide, lock, reorder and adjust layer opacity and blend modes. Open multiple image tabs and copy content between them. EXPORT PNG, JPG, WEBP OR PSD Export transparent PNGs, JPG photos, WebP images, or layered PSD documents. Choose export dimensions before saving. PSD import is not supported. LOCAL EDITING Image editing, drafts and exports run locally in your browser. Opening or editing an image does not upload it to CanvasAI. Optional account sign-in is used for profile and purchase status. FREE USE Core editing works without signing in. Free exports support up to 1280 pixels on the longest edge. Larger images can still be edited and exported at a reduced size. A one-time Lifetime upgrade for high-resolution export is planned. Purchases are not available in this release. Canvas Editor does not include AI image generation. Animated images open as a static frame.
