Overview

Generate an ERD from the Salesforce Schema Builder canvas. Export as Mermaid, PNG, CSV or Excel. All data stays in your browser.

Salesforce Schema Builder is great for arranging objects and relationships on screen, but it gives you no way to export what you built. SF Schema Diagram fills that gap: it turns the canvas you already arranged into a portable entity-relationship diagram you can drop into your docs, your data model tools, or a spreadsheet. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open Setup → Schema Builder in your Salesforce org. 2. Drag the objects you want onto the canvas and arrange them. 3. Click the extension icon — it auto-reads the canvas when you're on a Schema Builder tab. 4. View the ERD in the popup, then copy or download it in the format you need. The capture reads the diagram straight from the page you are already viewing — it follows the layout you arranged on the canvas, nudging objects apart where needed to keep the diagram readable. Not on a Schema Builder tab, or nothing showed up? Click "Capture from canvas" to read the active tab. WHAT YOU GET - An interactive ERD rendered right in the popup, with primary-key and foreign-key markers on related fields. - Copy as Mermaid — a standard erDiagram block you can paste into Confluence, Notion, GitHub, GitLab, markdown, or mermaid.live. - Copy as draw.io XML — mxGraph XML with relationship lines anchored to each individual field row, not just the object boxes. Paste it into draw.io via Extras → Edit Diagram. - Download as PNG — a ready-to-share image of the diagram exactly as rendered. - Download as CSV — two files, one for fields and one for relationships, UTF-8 with a BOM so Excel reads accents correctly. - Download as Excel — a single .xlsx workbook with a Fields sheet and a Relationships sheet. - A "References only" toggle to hide non-reference fields when a diagram gets dense. - An in-popup help panel that walks through capturing and every export format. - Works on Enhanced Domain orgs (salesforce-setup.com Setup tabs), where the Salesforce REST API is not available. The capture is purely page-based, so it works everywhere Schema Builder runs. PRIVACY — EVERYTHING STAYS ON YOUR MACHINE - No outbound network calls. No analytics. No telemetry. - No persistent storage of any kind — no chrome.storage, no cookies, no files on disk. - Captured schema lives only in memory while the popup is open and is wiped the moment you close it. - The extension only reads object, field, and relationship names — never any record data or values. - It runs only on Salesforce domains, and only reads the page when you explicitly capture the canvas.
