Five Tab Limit
Overview
Caps your tabs at five. Extra new tabs meet a stop sign. Donate to set your own limit.
Five Tab Limit caps your open tabs at five. Open a sixth tab and instead of piling on, you meet a stop sign: a full-page pause that shows the URL you tried to open, plus a tidy list of your current tabs so you can close one and get on with your life. Why five? Because you and your browser both know that tab 47 isn't "for later" — it's gone. Five keeps you honest: read it, use it, or close it. What you get: • A hard cap on tabs — five by default • A stop-sign page when you hit the cap, with one-click closing for your current tabs • A toolbar popup showing exactly where you stand (3/5, 4/5, 5/5…) • A toolbar icon that turns into a stop sign when you're at the limit Donate to unlock a custom limit anywhere from 2 to 20. The extension can't verify payments, so this runs on the honor system — the link takes you to Ko-fi, and you flip the switch yourself. No accounts. No tracking. No analytics. Nothing leaves your browser — settings live in local storage only. Permission used: "tabs" — required to count your tabs and close the ones you pick. That's the whole story.
