Overview

Full page, zone, element screenshots + code/design/SEO inspector. Local only, no data sent.

PageLens is the most complete screenshot and web inspector extension for Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, and all Chromium browsers. Capture any webpage in 9 different modes, inspect HTML code, CSS properties, animations, and run a full SEO/GEO audit — all in one click, directly from your browser toolbar. 100% local. No account required. No data collected. No backend. Completely free. 9 CAPTURE MODES IN ONE EXTENSION Full Page Screenshot Capture the entire webpage — including content below the fold — as a single high-resolution PNG. PageLens automatically scrolls and stitches the page, hiding sticky headers and fixed elements for a clean result. No broken layout, no overlapping UI. Visible Area Screenshot Instantly capture exactly what's visible in your browser viewport. One click, one image. The fastest way to grab the current screen. Selected Zone Draw a custom selection rectangle on any part of the page. Precise crop handles let you define the exact area to capture. Confirm with a single click. Perfect for isolating a specific section without cropping manually after the fact. Element Picker Hover over any DOM element to highlight it with a green border, then click to capture it as a standalone image. PageLens uses getBoundingClientRect to snap precisely to the element boundaries — no manual alignment, no guesswork. Inspired by Arc Browser's element capture behavior. Element + Code Inspector Capture any element AND extract its clean HTML structure in the same image. The code panel shows syntax-highlighted HTML directly below the visual capture. Ideal for developers reviewing component markup, designers checking structure, or QA engineers documenting issues. Element Design Inspector Select any element and capture its full computed CSS properties: dimensions, colors (with hex codes), typography (font family, size, weight, line height), spacing (padding, margin), borders, and more. Everything a designer or developer needs to reproduce or audit a component — exported as a single portable image. Element Motion Inspector Capture any element with its animation and transition data: CSS transitions, keyframe animations, transform states, will-change properties, and interactivity (cursor, opacity, pointer events). Essential for motion designers and frontend developers debugging animation behavior. Element SEO/GEO Audit Select any element or run a full-page audit to capture an 8-section SEO/GEO report: meta title and description, heading hierarchy (H1–H6), image alt attributes, internal and external links, Open Graph tags, JSON-LD structured data, and page-level signals. Get an instant visual audit you can share with your team or client. Delayed Capture (5 seconds) Set a 5-second countdown before the capture fires. Use it to capture tooltips, hover states, dropdown menus, and dynamic UI elements that disappear when you interact with the extension popup. The countdown badge is visible in the toolbar so you know exactly when the capture will trigger. AFTER EVERY CAPTURE Every capture mode automatically copies the result to your clipboard as a PNG image. A toast notification appears at the bottom right of the page with: "Copied ✓" confirmation Save button (PNG or PDF) 10-second auto-dismiss timer Save as PNG for pixel-perfect quality. Save as PDF using the browser's native print engine. WHO USES PAGELENS Web Developers Inspect component HTML and CSS without opening DevTools. Capture element structure, computed styles, and animation properties as shareable images. Document bugs with precise element captures. Review code faster in team reviews. UI/UX Designers Extract exact color codes, font stacks, spacing values, and border styles from any live website. Capture design references, competitive screens, and UI patterns — with the design data embedded in the image. SEO Specialists Run instant page audits capturing meta tags, heading structure, image alt text, link distribution, Open Graph data, and JSON-LD structured data. Export the audit as a single image for client reports or team reviews. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) Practitioners Audit structured data, semantic HTML structure, and content organization for AI-generated search results. Verify JSON-LD schemas, entity markup, and heading hierarchies — the signals that matter for visibility in AI overviews and generative search engines. Content Managers Capture full-page screenshots of articles, landing pages, and blog posts for content audits, competitive analysis, and editorial reviews — without installing additional tools. QA Engineers Document visual bugs with precise element captures. Screenshot specific UI states, including hover effects and delayed UI elements, without leaving the browser. Freelancers and Agencies Capture client websites for audits, proposals, and reports. Export clean, annotatable images for presentations. Share SEO and design data without requiring access to the client's codebase. Digital Marketers Screenshot landing pages, competitor pages, and ad placements. Run SEO audits and capture Open Graph data for social media optimization reviews. WHY PAGELENS IS DIFFERENT Most screenshot extensions do one thing: capture the visible area or the full page. PageLens was built for professionals who need more. There is no other Chrome extension that combines all of the following in a single tool: Full page screenshot with scroll-stitch technology DOM element capture with pixel-perfect boundaries HTML code extraction with syntax highlighting Computed CSS property inspection CSS animation and transition capture SEO/GEO page audit with structured data Delayed capture for dynamic UI states Automatic clipboard copy after every capture PNG and PDF export from the same interface No subscription. No watermark. No account. No data sent anywhere. PRIVACY AND SECURITY PageLens runs entirely inside your browser. No data is ever sent to external servers. No browsing history is tracked. No page content is uploaded or stored remotely. All processing happens locally using native Chrome extension APIs. Permissions used: activeTab: Required to capture and inspect the current tab scripting: Required to inject the overlay and element picker interface clipboardWrite: Required to auto-copy captures to your clipboard offscreen: Required for canvas processing (image stitching and cropping) PageLens does not use optional permissions or request access beyond what is strictly necessary for its functionality. TECHNICAL DETAILS Built with Chrome Manifest V3 (the latest extension standard) Compatible with Chrome 110+, Microsoft Edge 110+, Brave, Arc, Opera, Vivaldi, and all Chromium-based browsers Keyboard shortcut: Alt+S Output format: PNG (lossless) and PDF File naming: pagelens-YYYY-MM-DD-HHmm.png No external dependencies, no CDN calls, no remote code execution IDs and DOM elements prefixed to avoid conflicts with host page styles FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Is PageLens free? Yes. All 9 capture modes are free and will remain free. Future Pro features (annotation, OCR, batch capture) will be optional paid upgrades — the core functionality will always be free. Does PageLens work on all websites? PageLens works on the vast majority of websites. Some browser-internal pages (chrome://, edge://) and PDF viewer pages cannot be accessed by Chrome extensions due to browser security restrictions — this is a Chrome limitation, not a PageLens limitation. Does full-page capture work on infinite scroll pages? Full-page capture works on standard scrollable pages. Infinite scroll pages (social media feeds, etc.) may produce partial results depending on how much content has been loaded at the time of capture. Can I capture password-protected or login-required pages? Yes. PageLens captures what is visible in your browser — if you are logged in, it captures the authenticated view. Why does PDF export not work on zone and element captures? PDF export uses the browser's native print engine, which renders the full page layout. It is available for Full Page and Visible Area modes. Zone and Element captures export as PNG only. Is there a limit on how many captures I can take? No. PageLens has no usage limits.
