Overview
Not memory. Meaning. Reads your AI chats — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, Copilot — into a private map of what you actually mean.
Not memory. Meaning. Bevia builds a private map of what you actually mean — from your own work, as plain markdown on your own disk. This extension is the browser sensor: it reads the AI conversations where your ideas take shape and sends them to Bevia Local, the desktop app on your machine, which turns them into a living map of what you're actually working through — the ideas that recur, the connections you didn't see, the territories your thinking keeps returning to. HOW IT CONNECTS — local first: pair this browser with the Bevia Local app on this computer (the app shows a port and a one-time code; you type them into the extension's options page). Once paired, everything the extension reads goes only to 127.0.0.1 — the app on your own machine. Nothing is uploaded to Bevia. Run the map fully offline with a local model, or point the app at the model provider of your choice. IMPORTANT — how capture works: installing the extension IS the consent. Supported AI sites are read PASSIVELY and AUTOMATICALLY in the background while you work — you don't have to click anything each time. You stay in control from the popup: opt any site out with a switch, or pause all capture globally. One-click activation applies only to NEWLY-DETECTED, unfamiliar AI surfaces — a site Bevia hasn't seen before isn't captured until you turn it on. Manual "send this page" is an optional extra, not the default. The extension reads your AI cognition surfaces: • The AI chat, coding, and app-building sites where your ideas take shape — it captures the full conversation (scrolling and collecting so virtualized turns aren't missed). The full list of supported sites is shown in the extension popup, each with its own on/off switch. • Newly detected AI surfaces on any site — a small badge offers one-click activation; an unfamiliar surface isn't captured until you turn it on What it becomes on your machine: → a living map of your ideas and how they connect — plain markdown you own, browsable in Obsidian or any editor → context your AI tools can query mid-session via MCP Open on both sides: anything can feed your map, anything can think with it. This extension is one sensor on Bevia's open capture API — the same API anyone can build against (https://bevia.co/developers). Bevia is developmental, not evaluative — it reflects your own thinking back to you. Your map is yours: plain files on your disk, exportable by definition. Free to install. Bevia Local is $30 once — no subscription, no account; the license is the account. (A hosted engine can serve as an optional alternative destination later; it is never required.)
