)Overview
A faster Second Life Marketplace: dense grid, hover previews, body filters, blacklists, dark mode.
bettermp replaces the Second Life Marketplace's browsing pages with a denser, faster interface. It runs in your browser, on the session you are already signed in with, and the site keeps handling search, your cart and checkout. THE GRID • Dense grid with infinite scroll. The next page preloads before you reach the bottom, and Back returns the same results at the same scroll position. • Hover a card to step through the listing's gallery in an enlarged popover, with the item's full name and description below it. • Cards show the rating and how many reviews it comes from. • Search pages show the marketplace's Featured items as their own section, with your filters applied to them. • Variant merging, off by default: one card per product instead of one per colour, with the price span and a DEMO badge. FILTERS • The site's own controls: category tree, price, maturity, permissions, land impact, and all eleven sort orders. • Body filter: only items whose title names your body (Maitreya, Legacy, eBody/Reborn, Kupra, Belleza and more, aliases included), or only items that name none. • Per-store limit: at most 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 results from any one shop. • Block a store with one click on a card, and hide listings whose titles contain terms you choose. Blocked stores export as CSV or JSON. • Saved searches: one click saves the current search, filters and body selection included, and the rail takes you back to it. • The rail says how many of the results loaded so far your filters are hiding. LISTING PAGES • Keyboard-navigable gallery, description tabs, and the item's Copy, Modify and Transfer rights. • Reviews tab: the average, the breakdown by star, and five sort orders, a page at a time. • Contents tab: everything in the box, with the permissions on each item. • Sibling chips for the product's other colours, its packs and its demo. • Wishlist, favourite and Block store buttons. • A listing you already own shows the purchase date and a link to the order. Where the marketplace redelivers the item, Add to cart becomes Redeliver. YOUR OWN LISTS • Your wishlist and favourites get the same grid, hover previews and filter rail. • Favourite stores are cards showing each store's newest items and prices, with per-card unfavourite. • Received gifts show the date, sender and gift message, redeliver in one click, and filter by item, store or sender. • The marketplace home page opens in bettermp, with your blocklists and body filter applied. STAYS OUT OF YOUR WAY • Dark mode throughout, plus a dark skin on the native pages (cart, checkout) that stay untouched. • One click on the toolbar icon switches the whole thing off and back on. • Every page has an escape hatch to the untouched native page. • Buying is always the site's own flow. bettermp never touches payment. PRIVACY bettermp runs in your browser. It has no backend, no accounts and no analytics, and it collects nothing about you. Your settings, saved searches and blocklists are stored locally and stay there. It talks only to marketplace.secondlife.com, in the session you are already signed in with, to load the pages it re-renders and to do the things you ask of it there: add to cart, add or remove wishlist and favourite items, redeliver a gift. Those are the site's own actions, made the site's own way. The one exception is the store-review setting, off by default, which downloads a single public read-only Google Sheet. bettermp is an independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Linden Lab.
