We capture following data for Better Insights: - Client name, location, and member-since date - Total jobs posted, total spent, hire rate, and open jobs - Client rating, reviews, and hiring stats - Current job activity i.e. proposals, invites, interviewing counts, last viewed - Skills and requirements listed on the job posting - Client's past job history (titles, freelancer names, ratings, feedback) Better Up DOES NOT access your Upwork account, login credentials, private messages, financial information, or any data from non-Upwork websites. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Which Permissions are Required & Why ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 1. activeTab — Lets the extension interact with the Upwork job page you are currently viewing when you click the extension icon. 2. scripting — Required to read publicly visible client data and extract hiring stats, feedback, and job history from the page. 3. storage — Saves your preferences (theme, settings) locally in Chrome's sandboxed extension storage. No Upwork data is ever sent to any server. 4. Host permission (upwork.com/jobs/*) — Required for the content script to extract client data on job pages. Strictly limited to Upwork job posting URLs only. 5. Host permission (script.google.com/...) — Used exclusively by the built-in feedback form. No Upwork data is ever transmitted to this endpoint. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Analystics & Privacy ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ - Better Up sends a single anonymous "popup opened" event to Google Analytics each time you open the popup. This uses a randomly generated install ID — never your name, Upwork data, or browsing history. - When you submit feedback through the built-in form, your provided message, email, feedback type, optional screenshots, browser info, and extension version are sent to a secure server to create a support ticket. No Upwork data is included — only what you explicitly type and attach. - All extracted Upwork data stays in your browser's sandboxed extension storage and is never transmitted to any external server.
