Better for Spotify

Spotify Web Player in Material 3 Expressive: synced karaoke lyrics, colors from the album art, a wavy progress bar and ad muting.

Better for Spotify redesigns the Spotify Web Player (open.spotify.com) in Google's Material 3 Expressive style, adds letter-by-letter synced lyrics and makes the app lighter. LOOK • Dynamic color: the whole player takes its palette from the album art of what's playing. • A wavy progress bar that animates while music plays and rests flat when paused. • A floating player card with a shape-morphing play button, rounded panels and springy motion. • Google Sans Flex with rounded, expressive display styles. • The Miniplayer (picture-in-picture window) gets the same Material look. • Minimal mode: no install prompts, sidebar footer or page footer. LYRICS • Time-synced lyrics from LRCLIB inside Spotify's Lyrics view, with a karaoke fill that sweeps through each word as it's sung. • Tap a line to jump to it. Smooth transitions when the song changes, in full screen too. QUIETER • Mute ads: audio ads are silenced and the tab is unmuted as soon as the music is back. Optional soft filler music while you wait. FASTER • Crash reporting and third-party analytics are blocked. Play counts still reach artists. • No noise texture or live background blurs; off-screen shelves aren't rendered until you scroll to them. BETTER • Scroll over the player bar to change volume, with a Material volume indicator. • Premium upsell buttons are hidden. Every feature is a switch in the popup and applies instantly. No account, no tracking. Not affiliated with Spotify. Lyrics are provided by LRCLIB (lrclib.net). Ad muting is inspired by Blockify by Claire Froelich.
