Unified Video Control

Control playback speed and volume of any HTML5 video on any website with one consistent set of controls and shortcuts.

Control the speed and volume of any video on any website with one set of shortcuts. Set a speed once and every tab follows it, even when a site resets to 1×. Boost quiet videos up to 300%. Works on YouTube, Twitch, embeds and more. FEATURES • One speed everywhere: change it in one tab and every open tab follows. New videos start at your speed too. • Keeps your speed: many sites switch back to 1× on the next video, after an ad or on a quality change. VidCtrl sets your speed again automatically. • Per-tab volume with boost: turn quiet videos up past 100% (up to 600%, adjustable). • Same keyboard shortcuts on every site: Alt+Shift+. faster Alt+Shift+, slower Alt+Shift+↑ volume up Alt+Shift+↓ volume down Reset-to-1× and mute can be added in Manage Extension Shortcuts. • Works with embedded players and custom video players, and picks the video you're actually watching. • On-screen indicator shows the new speed or volume, including in fullscreen. • Toolbar popup with speed and volume sliders, speed presets (1×–3×) and mute. SETTINGS Choose how much each shortcut press changes speed and volume, the maximum volume boost, whether to override sites that reset your speed, and whether to show the on-screen indicator. GOOD TO KNOW • Volume boost isn't available on DRM-protected video (such as Netflix or Disney+) or on some videos served from other domains. Speed control still works there. • Boost needs one click on the page first, because browsers block audio processing until you've interacted with the page. • Some live streams don't allow speed changes. • Your speed is remembered across restarts. Press 1× in the popup to go back to normal everywhere. PRIVACY VidCtrl collects no data. It needs access to all websites only so it can control videos wherever they play. Settings stay in your browser.
