Tidyleaf AI Chat Exporter
Overview
Export your ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini chats to Markdown, Word, PDF or JSON. Free. Pro adds bulk export.
Save any ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini conversation as a clean file you own, in one click. One extension, three sites, no account. WHAT YOU GET (FREE) - Export the open conversation to Markdown, plain text, JSON or PDF - An Export button on chatgpt.com, claude.ai and gemini.google.com, plus the toolbar popup - Copy the whole chat as Markdown, or hover any single message and click "Copy MD" - Code blocks keep their language tag and exact indentation - Tables, lists, headings, quotes and links come through as proper Markdown - Math (LaTeX) is kept as source, between $ and $$, so it pastes straight into Obsidian, Notion, Typora or a paper - Every message is labelled User or Assistant - Images and attachments become links or [Attachment: name] placeholders - PDF export opens a clean print view; choose "Save as PDF" in the print dialog PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything happens inside your browser. The extension reads your conversations from the AI site you are already signed in to, using the same requests the site's own page makes, and writes files to your downloads. There is no server, no analytics, no account and no tracking. Your chats never leave your device. The only thing the extension ever sends elsewhere is your Pro license key, to Polar (api.polar.sh), to check that it is valid. HOW IT WORKS - ChatGPT and Claude: the extension asks the site for the conversation the same way the site's own page does, using your existing login, so you get the full active branch of the chat with its attachments and artifacts. If that is unavailable it reads the rendered page instead. - Gemini: reads the rendered page. Gemini loads long chats in pieces, so scroll to the top first to export everything. TIDYLEAF PRO ($24 a year or $3.99 a month, one key for every Tidyleaf extension) - Bulk export: save all your chats in one go as a zip of Markdown files, one file per conversation, in a folder named after the site. Works on chatgpt.com and claude.ai. Large accounts take a few minutes, because the extension fetches your chats one by one and pauses between requests to be gentle on the site; keep the tab open until the zip downloads. Anything that cannot be fetched is listed in a text file in the zip. - Obsidian export: Markdown with YAML properties at the top (title, provider, model when the site reports it, created date, url, tags), ready to drop into a vault. Works for the open chat on all three sites, and for the bulk zip. - Notion export: Markdown that imports as a page through Notion's Import > Text & Markdown (a bulk zip can be imported in one go). Works for the open chat on all three sites, and for the bulk zip. - Gemini: bulk export is not available, because Gemini offers no stable way to list your chats. Gemini chats export one at a time. - Paste your key in the popup to unlock Pro. The key is checked with Polar at most once a day and keeps working for 7 days if you are offline. Cancel any time from Polar's customer portal. The free exports above stay free. NOT AFFILIATED Tidyleaf AI Chat Exporter is an independent tool by Tidyleaf.
