Check grammar, rewrite and translate text on the page you are on. BeLikeNative puts your language tools in one side panel, next to the page. No copy-paste. No extra tabs. No account. Select text or click in a text field. Pick a tool. Click Apply. The result goes back into the field. WRITE • Fix finds spelling mistakes and common grammar mistakes in English. Each problem has a one-line reason. Fix runs inside the extension, on your computer (Harper, an open-source checker, and a small set of rules for common learner mistakes). It doesn't find every mistake. • Apply all changes only the sure fixes. When a fix isn't sure, for example when more than one word fits, BeLikeNative shows the choices and waits for you. One click applies the one you pick. • Compare shows your text before and after the fixes. Copy fixed text copies the result and doesn't change the page. Undo is one click. • My dictionary keeps names and words that you use, so the check doesn't mark them. • Rewrite makes your text more formal, more friendly or more neutral. It uses Chrome's built-in AI on your computer, where your computer supports it. • Cloud deep check and Cloud rewrite use an AI model in the cloud, for the mistakes that Fix misses. They run only when you click them. The free plan includes 5 cloud calls a day. TRANSLATE • Translate between English and 37 other languages with Chrome's on-device translator. • Back-translation translates your result back, so you can check the meaning. • Insert the result into the field, or replace the selected text. • Listen reads the result aloud with a voice on your computer. READ • Get key points or a short summary of a long page or a selection. • Simplify difficult text into plain words. • Listen reads the result aloud with a voice on your computer. LEARN • My mistakes remembers the fixes you apply, on your computer, and shows the mistakes you make most often. • A weekly line shows how many fixes you applied this week and on how many days. • Daily review takes 2 minutes, with up to 8 cards from your mistakes and your saved words. • Words shows the meaning of a word you select, with an example. You can hear it and save it. HISTORY AND YOUR DATA Your history, mistakes, saved words and My dictionary stay in your browser. Export them as a JSON file at any time. Delete them in Settings. HOW TO OPEN IT Click the toolbar icon, press Alt+Shift+B, use the right-click menu, or click the small bar that shows next to selected text. You don't want the bar on a site? Click "Not on this site" in the bar, or add the site in Settings. Press ? in the panel to see all keyboard keys. FREE AND PRO The free plan needs no account. Fix, Rewrite, Translate, Summarize, Simplify, Words, My mistakes, daily review, history and export all run on your computer with no daily limit. Free also includes 5 cloud calls a day. Pro costs $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year and gives you 1,500 cloud calls a month (fair use). Founding costs $79 one time, for the first 200 buyers. Founding is Pro for the life of the product. You pay on a Stripe page and get a licence key right after payment. One key works on up to 3 devices (Chrome profiles or computers). You can cancel a monthly or yearly plan yourself on a Stripe page. PRIVACY The tools marked "On device" don't send your text anywhere. Your text leaves your computer only when you click a button marked "Cloud", or when you choose an online voice to hear a word in Words (then Chrome sends that word to its speech service). Listen in Translate and Read uses only voices on your computer. A Cloud request goes to our server (belikenative.com) and to our AI providers, OpenRouter and Anthropic, to make the result. Our server doesn't save your text. With a Cloud request or a Pro licence check, the extension also sends a random install ID (made by the extension, not linked to your name) and, for Pro, your licence token. Our server uses them only to count the daily limit and to check Pro. When you click Upgrade, the Stripe payment page gets the same install ID, so your licence reaches this browser. Rewrite, Summarize, Simplify and word meanings use Chrome's built-in AI model. Chrome downloads it one time, when you click. It needs about 22 GB of free disk space and either a graphics card with more than 4 GB of memory, or 16 GB of RAM and 4 CPU cores. If your computer can't run it, Fix, Translate and the Cloud tools still work. WHAT'S NEW IN 2.0 We rebuilt BeLikeNative around a side panel. You don't need an account any more. The tools on your computer have no daily limit. Apply all changes only sure fixes and shows you the rest with choices. New in 2.0 are My dictionary, Compare, Copy fixed text, Listen, "Not on this site", a weekly line in Learn and a list of keyboard keys (press ?).
