Overview

A browser extension to efficiently manage your tabs.

Tabs. turns your new tab page into a calm, focused tab manager. Save the tabs you want to keep, organize them in collections and get back to them in one click. It started as a personal replacement for a tab manager that went paid and kept adding features nobody asked for. The goal is the opposite: a small tool that does the few things you actually use, and does them well. No accounts, no feed, no noise. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Save tabs into collections. Drag any open tab into a collection, give the collection a name and a color, and keep everything you want to revisit in one place. • See your open tabs next to your collections. Your live tabs are listed on the right, grouped by window and by tab group. Focus, close, pin, mute or rearrange them, or drag them between windows and groups. • Cards or list. Show your collections as cards or as a compact list, expand or collapse them all at once, and search across everything you saved. • Quick links. A bar of your most used sites, always one click away in the header. Drag a link in from a page or from your open tabs. • Zen mode. A calm full-screen view with a clock, a search box and your quick links as a dock. • A search box that understands you. Type a web address to go there, or anything else to search with the search engine your browser already uses. Press Enter to open it in the same tab, or Cmd+Enter (Ctrl+Enter) to open it in a new one. • Light and dark. Starts from your system theme and can be switched at any time. • 13 languages. English, Español, 中文, हिन्दी, العربية, Français, Português, Русский, বাংলা, 日本語, Deutsch, Italiano and 한국어, including right-to-left layout. OPTIONAL CLOUD SYNC Turn on cloud sync to back up your collections and keep your browsers up to date. It is off by default and everything works the same without it: your collections always stay on your device too. Changes are merged row by row, and the most recent change wins. To use the same backup in a second browser, copy the cloud identity from the Sync panel of the first one and paste it into the second. You then choose what happens with the data: merge both sides, keep the cloud, or keep that device. Whatever gets replaced is saved as a backup first. SAFE BY DESIGN • Automatic backups. A copy of your collections is saved before anything destructive, such as clearing them, replacing them with an import or applying a big change from sync. The last three copies are kept and you can restore any of them. • Import and export. Move your collections in and out whenever you want. • Your data stays yours. Collections and settings are stored in your browser. There are no ads, no trackers and no analytics. If you turn on cloud sync, your collections are sent to the sync service, and only then. To show the icon of some sites, such as your quick links, the extension may ask a public icon service for it, which receives the address of the site. WHY IT ASKS FOR THESE PERMISSIONS • Tabs: to list your open tabs, with their title, address and icon, so you can manage them and save them. It does not read the content of any page and it does not keep a browsing history. • Tab groups: to show and rearrange your tab groups. • Windows: to group your tabs by window and move tabs between windows. • Storage: to keep your collections, settings and backups in your browser. • Search: to run searches from the search box with your default search engine. • Access to endpoints.hckr.mx: only used for the optional cloud sync, and only when you turn it on. OPEN SOURCE Tabs. is free and open source under the MIT license. Source code, issues and ideas: https://github.com/dannegm/tabs Found a bug or have an idea? Open an issue. Tabs. is meant to stay focused, so every new feature has to earn its place.
