Beep is the guide from John Margerison's book The AI Manager, free to read at book.theaimanager.ai. He sits in the corner of the page. Press his face and ask what AI could do here. He sorts the work on the page into the book's six categories, says which parts a machine should take and which stay yours, and writes the six-line brief you can paste into any AI tool. He tells you what he found. Gold means money on the page. Red means a risk, like a sender address one letter off or a request for your card details. Amber means check before you act. Teal means something worth looking into. Press him and each one is a button. Don't paste that. On ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity, and anywhere else he runs, a paste that carries a card number, a bank account, an email, a phone number, a government number, a date of birth or an ID is held on your own computer. Beep offers the same text with those parts replaced by placeholders. The check never leaves your browser. He never watches. He reads the page you are on only when you press the button, as text, once, and forgets it. Where he appears is yours to decide. He runs on the book's own sites and the AI tools by default. Everywhere else he comes when you ask, or always if you switch that on. Sites that look like banking, health, government or sign-in stay off until you say. What he knows about you is on one page in his settings, with a download and a delete. He counts what is used, never what you read or type.
