BEACH Bot
Overview
Ask California legal questions and get the exact statute text, cited and linked to the official source.
BEACH Bot increases consulting research workflows by answering questions pertaining to California laws by responding with quoted text from the California Legislative Information. The BEACH Bot is an AI-assisted research tool created by Santa Clara University's AI Collaborate club for the BEACH Consulting program. Because BEACH Bot only quotes laws, not synthesizes responses, this allows students to still think critically and draw their own conclusions while researching, while at the same time increasing their efficiency and reducing AI hallucinations. How it works: 1) User inputs question. 2) BEACH Bot searches a library of California statutes for the ones closest to the question. 3) Uses AI to confirm that the statute actually answers the question. 4) Quotes the statute word for word, including the section, link, and match score, then provides this for the user. 5) If the question falls outside the scope of California statutes, BEACH Bot recommends a research source that might fit instead of guessing. BEACH Bot is a research tool, not legal advice. For advice about your situation, consult a licensed attorney.
