SpeedScan: Website Performance Audit
Overview
Check webpage performance on desktop and mobile with Google PageSpeed Insights.
SpeedScan checks the performance of the webpage currently open in Chrome and displays separate Google PageSpeed Insights results for Desktop and Mobile. The extension shows: • Performance scores from Google Lighthouse • First Contentful Paint (FCP) • Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) • Speed Index • Total Blocking Time (TBT) • HTTPS status • Performance audits that may be slowing down the page • Clear explanations for common speed problems The Errors Lowering Speed section highlights issues reported by Google, such as render-blocking resources, large or unoptimized images, unused JavaScript, unused CSS, slow server response time, large DOM size, and other performance opportunities. SpeedScan runs a fresh Google PageSpeed Insights audit for Desktop and Mobile when you start a scan. An animated loading state shows that the audit is in progress. Scores can vary between tests because server response time, caching, network conditions, third-party scripts, and page content may change. The extension displays results returned by Google PageSpeed Insights and does not invent performance scores. SpeedScan does not require an account. It uses the URL of the active webpage only when you start an audit and sends that URL to Google PageSpeed Insights to request the performance report.
