NFL Better Player

Clear NFL.com video, 5/10-second seeking, speed controls, instant-hide playback controls, and keyboard shortcut help.

Watch NFL.com videos with a clear picture and convenient keyboard controls. NFL Better Player removes the translucent dark background behind the video controls. The time slider, playback buttons, volume, captions, and fullscreen controls remain available on hover. On devices with a mouse, the controls disappear immediately when your pointer leaves the video. Keyboard shortcuts • Left Arrow: back 10 seconds. • Right Arrow: forward 10 seconds. • Comma (,): back 5 seconds. • Period (.): forward 5 seconds. • Less than (<): slow playback by 0.25x. • Greater than (>): speed playback up by 0.25x. • Question mark (?): toggle the keyboard-shortcut help panel. On a US keyboard, use Shift+comma for <, Shift+period for >, and Shift+slash for ?. Small, useful feedback A small upper-right label shows the requested skip amount, such as +5s or -10s. A top-center label shows the new playback speed, such as 1.25x. Both disappear after one second; repeated presses update the label and restart its timer. The compact bottom-right help panel stays open until you toggle it off, and dismisses if the video leaves view during a scroll or layout update. How to use Install the extension, refresh your NFL.com video page, and play a video. Shortcuts work while a loaded video is visible, including while paused. Typing in form fields is unaffected. Playback speed stays between 0.25x and 4x. Seeking stops at the available playback boundaries, so the actual jump may be shorter near the beginning or end. Speed preferences are not saved across page reloads. Privacy Runs only on www.nfl.com. No analytics, tracking, external network requests, or stored user data. All functionality is included in the extension package. Compatibility Designed for NFL.com's THEOplayer video player. NFL.com player updates may require an extension update. Your normal NFL.com access and any required subscription still apply. This extension does not provide video content, downloads, or subscription access. Independent extension.
