Overview

Splits the YouTube watch page into panes that scroll independently: a fixed video, comments, and suggestions.

Watch the video and read the comments at the same time. Split View turns the YouTube watch page into panes that scroll on their own, so the video stays put while you read comments or browse suggestions. No more losing the video off the top of the page. Two Layouts: Comments Below - Puts the video top left, the description and comments in a pane beneath it, and the suggestions down the right hand side. Comments Right - Puts the video top left, the suggestions in a sideways scrolling strip of cards beneath it, and the description and comments down the right hand side. The strip fills the height it has, so a smaller video gives you several rows of suggestions rather than one. Show only what you want: Hide the comments, hide the suggestions, or hide both and just watch. Whatever is left grows to fill the space. Sized the way you like: Drag the divider under the video, or the one beside it, to resize. The video pane is locked to the shape of the video itself, so you never get black bars down the sides, and it will not shrink so far that it becomes unusable. Your sizes are remembered. Stays out of the way: Split View switches itself off in theatre mode, in fullscreen, and on windows too narrow for YouTube's own two column layout, then comes back on its own. Turn the whole thing on and off from the toolbar menu or with Alt+Shift+S. Private by design: No accounts, no tracking, no analytics. The extension contains no network code at all. The only permission it asks for is storage, to remember your settings.
