Bayaaz: Markdown Web Clipper & Keepsake Cards
Overview
Highlight a passage, keep it — faithful Markdown, or a keepsake card on 12 historic papers. Multilingual, 100% offline.
Bayaaz — a small library, kept by hand. Select a line on any page — the one that made you stop — and Bayaaz keeps it: as faithful Markdown, or as a keepsake card. The habit has a lineage: for centuries, Urdu and Persian poets kept a bayāz (بیاض) close at hand, a blank notebook for the couplets they couldn't bear to lose. This is that notebook, living quietly beside your browser. SELECT A LINE — IT IS KEPT Right-click any selection and choose "Keep in Bayaaz" — or leave the quiet side panel open, and every passage you highlight lands there by itself. Everything arrives exactly as written: headings, lists, links and code survive, faithful to the last backtick, and each excerpt stays editable, title and all. Clip from one article or across many: every excerpt remembers where it came from, and what you choose, over time, becomes a portrait of your reading. MARKDOWN, FOR ORDER One click exports a clean .md file — dated, properly named, every source linked — ready for Obsidian, Notion, or your own writing system. Or copy excerpts as Markdown, plain text, or just the words themselves. They'll open in your notes app as if they'd been written there. CARDS, FOR TREASURES When one line deserves more, the Imprint Studio sets it on a paper with a real lineage — illuminated vellum, guilloché certificate, wax seal, cuneiform clay, papyrus, Heian ryōshi, palm-leaf, Tazhib, stone rubbing, ex libris, letterpress, newsprint — twelve in all. Pick a paper, press the seal — then print it, paste it into a journal, tuck it into a book: a keepsake of the moment a sentence found you. EVERY SCRIPT, KEPT LIKE A MANUSCRIPT Each script is set by its own rules — Chinese to its typographic canon, Urdu in true Nastaliq, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Persian, Vietnamese and more, fonts included. NOTHING EVER LEAVES YOUR DEVICE Everything happens on your machine. There is no account to create, no subscription, and nothing to sync — what you export is a plain file on your disk, yours for good. Two moods included: Parchment for daylight, Ink-Black for late nights. For everyone who still copies passages by hand: Bayaaz keeps the lines you loved, the way you found them. One last note: excerpts are for your own shelf. The words belong to the people who wrote them — Bayaaz simply helps you keep them close.
