BaseLayer captures your AI conversations and builds a personal knowledge vault that you fully own and control. HOW IT WORKS When you chat with AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, BaseLayer observes the conversation in real time. Every message is encrypted in your browser using your personal encryption key before anything leaves the page. The encrypted data is sent to your local BaseLayer desktop app, which processes it into a structured knowledge graph. Your vault learns what matters to you: the people, projects, decisions, and ideas that come up across all your AI conversations. CONTEXT RECALL BaseLayer does not just store your conversations. It makes them searchable. From the extension panel, you can search your entire vault and inject relevant context from past conversations directly into your current chat, giving your AI the full picture no matter which provider you are using. GEMINI HISTORY EXPORT Export your full Gemini conversation history as a JSON file. BaseLayer navigates your conversations, extracts all messages, and packages them for download or import into your vault. PRIVACY RESPECT BaseLayer automatically pauses recording when you use incognito or temporary chat modes on Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini. You can override this if you choose, but the default respects your privacy intent. The encryption key never leaves your device. • Your knowledge graph lives on your machine, processed locally by the BaseLayer desktop app. • BaseLayer servers handle encrypted data they cannot read. No plaintext is ever stored or transmitted to any third party. • Minimal anonymous telemetry is used solely to detect when AI providers change their page structure, ensuring the extension continues to work.
