Base URL Switcher
Overview
Press a registered shortcut to instantly switch the current page's protocol and domain (host:port) while keeping the same path.
This extension does not require any login, account, or credentials to test. How to test: 1. Click the extension icon in the toolbar to open the popup. 2. Click "Add Base URL". 3. In the Base URL field, enter a target address including protocol, e.g. https://example.com 4. Click the shortcut field, then physically press a key combination (e.g. Alt+Shift+M). 5. Click the check (✓) icon to save the entry. Its status changes to "Active". 6. Navigate to any website (e.g. https://www.bing.com). 7. Press the saved shortcut (e.g. Alt+Shift+M). The extension will change only the protocol and domain of the current tab's URL to the one configured in step 3, keeping the same path and query string, and navigate to it. 8. "Edit" (pencil icon) lets you modify a saved entry, "Delete" (trash icon) removes it. 9. "Export" downloads the current list as a JSON file; "Import" loads a JSON file and applies it to the list. Permissions used: - storage: saves the user-defined Base URL / shortcut mappings locally (and synced via the browser account), so they persist across sessions. - host_permissions (<all_urls>): required because the shortcut-detection and URL-switching feature must work on any website the user chooses to configure, not a fixed set of domains. No page content is read, collected, or transmitted.
