Overview
Instant TL;DRs and transcripts for any video on X. Cached, so summaries load in a second instead of being redone.
Get the point of any video on X without watching the whole thing. Video TL;DR for X adds a TL;DR button to every post. Click it and a side panel shows a two to three line summary, the key details, and a full timestamped transcript. Videos you pause on while scrolling are summarized in the background, so the button fills in when a summary is already waiting. FAST BY DEFAULT TL;DRs are cached, so a video that has already been summarized loads in a second instead of being transcribed again. Transcription runs on your device with Chrome's built-in AI (Gemini Nano), and the video itself never leaves your computer. No accounts, no API keys. FEATURES - TL;DR plus up to five key details for any video post - Cached TL;DRs load instantly - Full timestamped transcript with one-click copy - Quick TL;DR from the first minute of long videos, updated when it finishes - Background preparation while you scroll (can be turned off) - Clicking a post always jumps ahead of background work - Cancel any video while it is processing - Summaries for long text posts too - Light and dark mode REQUIREMENTS Desktop Chrome 138 or newer with Chrome's built-in AI. On-device audio transcription needs a GPU. The first use downloads Chrome's on-device model once; the extension walks you through it. Video TL;DR for X is not affiliated with or endorsed by X Corp.
