Overview

Graphic & parametric EQ for tab audio: spectrum analyzer, level-matched A/B, AutoEQ import. Private, no network access.

Bandwise EQ is an equalizer for the sound of your browser tabs. Bring out the voices in a podcast, tame harsh highs on a YouTube video, add some bass to music on Spotify Web, or correct the sound of your headphones. Start with ten sliders and a few presets. When you need more, switch to parametric mode and put every filter exactly where you want it. Make any tab sound better Graphic mode has 10 classic sliders from 31 Hz to 16 kHz and ready-made presets. Every tab keeps its own settings, and you can pin a site so it gets its settings back every time you open it. Fix the exact frequency Parametric mode gives you up to 10 bands with 7 filter types: drag the points on the graph, turn the knobs or type the values. Both modes edit the same EQ, so you can start with the sliders and switch when you need more control. Find what needs fixing A real-time spectrum analyzer shows the sound before and after the EQ, with peak hold. Hover over the graph to read the frequency, the EQ gain and the levels at that point. A stereo meter shows the output level and warns you when it clips. Does it really sound better? Hold the A/B button to hear the original sound. Bandwise matches the volume of the two versions, so a louder sound can't fool you. Shift+click keeps the bypass on. Correct your headphones Import the profile for your headphone model from AutoEQ (autoeq.app) in three steps, or paste any Equalizer APO parametric file. You can export your own settings in the same format. Your own presets Save your settings as presets and recall them with one click. A preamp fader and an output limiter help you avoid distortion when you boost. It stays on your computer The audio is processed on your computer and never leaves it. Bandwise EQ doesn't read the pages you visit and has no network access, no analytics and no ads. It doesn't open extra windows either: you can close the popup and the EQ keeps working. The source code is open (GPL-3.0): https://github.com/Balrog994/bandwise-eq How to use it 1. Play something in a tab. 2. Click the Bandwise EQ icon and turn it on. 3. Adjust the sound. You can close the popup whenever you like. Good to know While the EQ is on, Chrome may show that the tab's audio is being captured. This is how browsers let extensions process the sound of a tab. Chrome's own pages can't be processed, and some streaming services with DRM protection may not allow it. Bandwise EQ is available in English and Italian.
