Overview

A Bandcamp companion for continuous playback, queues, playlists, cart backups, activity, and DJ controls.

Bandkit is a free, independent Bandcamp companion built for music diggers, collectors, DJs and power users who want more control over how they discover, organise and listen to music. It adds a persistent, customisable music bar and companion panel directly to supported Bandcamp pages. Playback, queues, playlists, cart recovery, listening history and optional DJ tools stay within reach as you move between releases, artists, Discover, Feed, Search and your Collection. Bandkit is completely free, with no subscriptions, advertising or paid feature tiers. If you enjoy it, you can optionally support its continued development with a one-off donation through a Stripe-hosted link inside the extension. Donations are entirely optional and Stripe—not Bandkit—handles all payment information. DATA AND PRIVACY Bandkit reads the Bandcamp pages you visit and the track, release, artist, artwork, playback, cart and interaction information needed to provide its visible features. Your settings, playlists, cart-recovery copies, themes and listening activity are stored locally in Chrome. Bandkit has no developer-operated data server, advertising or analytics. It does not sell your information, download music, bypass Bandcamp’s access controls or handle payment credentials. Optional feedback is submitted only when you deliberately open and complete the external feedback form. Full details and deletion instructions are available in the privacy policy. FEATURES CONTINUOUS BANDCAMP PLAYBACK Start a supported track using Bandcamp’s normal controls and Bandkit can hand playback into its persistent music bar. Continue browsing supported Bandcamp pages while keeping the current track and controls available. The music bar includes playback position, previous and next controls, artwork, artist and release links, queue access and track information. Bandkit works with streams made available by Bandcamp to the current page and remains subject to Bandcamp’s availability and playback restrictions. NOW PLAYING AND QUEUES Build a working queue as you dig. Add individual tracks or complete supported releases to Now Playing, change their order, remove entries, shuffle the queue or jump directly to another track. Queues persist locally, so an interrupted listening session does not need to be rebuilt every time you return. SAVED PLAYLISTS Turn discoveries into reusable playlists without leaving Bandcamp. Create playlists, add individual tracks or releases, rename them, reorder their contents and choose whether playback should replace or append to the current queue. Playlists can be exported as portable Bandkit files and restored on another installation. Public exports retain useful Bandcamp links while excluding temporary playback URLs. DISCOVERY TOOLS Bandkit adds compact actions to supported Bandcamp surfaces, including: - Home - Discover - Search results - Feed - Fan collections and wishlists - Artist music and merchandise pages - Album and track pages - Recommendations and release lists Play a result, add it to Now Playing, save it to a playlist, inspect its tracks or open the original Bandcamp page. Controls remain visually quiet until they are relevant, keeping Bandcamp’s browsing experience focused on the music. CART RECOVERY Keep local recovery copies of your Bandcamp cart, including the product links and details needed to rebuild it later. Bandkit can automatically save cart changes, restore supported items and create readable HTML backups with clickable Bandcamp links. Public cart shares omit private restoration fields. Bandkit does not place orders, complete purchases or enter payment information. LISTENING ACTIVITY Maintain a private, locally stored record of your Bandkit listening activity. Revisit tracks and releases you recently played without sending your listening history to a developer-operated service. OPTIONAL DJ TOOLS Open a compact DJ-inspired control surface for supported tracks. Available tools include: - Seekable waveform - Automatic BPM analysis - Best-effort musical-key and optional Camelot-key analysis - Manual BPM correction - Tap tempo - Adjustable tempo ranges - Master Tempo - Gain control - Three-band low, mid and high EQ - Low-pass and high-pass filtering - Beat-based looping - Jog-wheel-style temporary speed bends - Adjustable jog resistance and braking behaviour - Reset controls for quickly returning to neutral settings Analysis happens locally and can be automatic or changed to an on-demand workflow. CUSTOMISABLE MUSIC BAR Make the player feel like part of your own browsing setup. Choose between floating, docked and expressive music-player-inspired layouts, including a style influenced by the clean, colourful interface design of Zune. Adjust the music bar’s width, position, opacity, timeline, artwork treatment, visualiser, button layout and information density. Compact modes keep the interface minimal, while expanded options expose more tools when needed. THEMES AND PAGE APPEARANCE Choose a dynamic theme derived from the current Bandcamp page, use a built-in light or dark palette, or create and save your own custom theme. Customisation options include: - Accent colours - Player and panel surfaces - Bandcamp page backgrounds and content surfaces - Navigation colours - Primary and secondary text - Timeline and scrubber colours - Visualiser palettes and blend modes - Rounded, square or custom corner styles - Multiple scrubber-handle shapes - Floating and docked layouts - Page-action labels - Modernised Bandcamp page layouts Themes can be exported and imported for use on another Bandkit installation. Page theming is optional and separate from the Bandkit interface theme. MODERN BANDCAMP PAGES Bandkit can give supported legacy Bandcamp pages a more consistent, responsive layout while retaining Bandcamp’s native content, controls and identity. Release artwork, notes, credits, tags, purchase choices, physical editions, galleries, supporter lists, artist information, recommendations, wishlists and native Bandcamp links remain available. Turn the modern layout off at any time to restore the original page structure. PICTURE-IN-PICTURE AND VISUALISATION Use the optional artwork-focused Picture-in-Picture player to keep the current track accessible in a small floating window. Bandkit also includes a customisable audio visualiser with adjustable dimensions, colours, opacity and blend modes. ACCESSIBILITY AND CONTROL Bandkit supports keyboard focus, accessible control names, visible focus states, tooltips and contrast-aware colour correction. Important information and primary actions remain visible, while secondary controls are progressively revealed through hover, focus, menus and expanded views. Settings include configurable knob gestures, page behaviour, playback options, visual preferences, analysis controls, backup reminders and a complete local-data deletion option. BUILT FOR THE LONG HAUL Bandkit is designed as an actively maintained, long-term tool for people who spend serious time digging through Bandcamp. Future development will continue to focus on compatibility, reliability, thoughtful interface improvements and useful features for listeners, collectors and DJs. Bandkit is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Bandcamp.
