Quick Note is a lightweight notepad built into Chrome. Capture ideas in a popup or keep the editor pinned in the side panel while you browse. Your open notes sync across devices signed into the same Chrome profile. Protected notes use one vault password per session and AES-256-GCM encryption (PBKDF2). WHY QUICK NOTE • Open instantly — toolbar icon, Alt+N (popup), or Alt+P (side panel) • Stay focused — side panel does not close when you click the page • Organize notes — separate tabs for open notes and password-protected notes • Write on the Main tab — full editor with title, body, character count, and autosave • Browse lists on dedicated tabs when you have many notes FEATURES • Unlimited open notes (up to 80 notes per profile) • Autosave with debounced sync to chrome.storage.sync • Protected vault: one password for all locked notes in a session (no per-note password every time) • Lock individual notes for the current browser session • Move a note to Protected or back to open • Delete from the list (× next to each row) or from the editor toolbar • Badge on the extension icon shows the count of open (non-protected) notes — optional • Themes: Dark, Light, or Auto (follow system) • Languages: English (default) and Russian • First-run tour; replay anytime in Settings • Keyboard shortcuts configurable at chrome://extensions/shortcuts PRIVACY & SECURITY • No account required • No analytics or ads in this extension • Note text for open notes is stored in Chrome sync (Google’s sync infrastructure) as part of your browser profile • Protected note content is encrypted before sync; titles of locked notes are hidden until the vault is unlocked • Vault password is not stored in plain text; session unlock is kept in chrome.storage.session until the browser session ends • The extension does not read or modify web page content PERMISSIONS (WHY WE NEED THEM) • storage — save notes, settings, and encrypted payloads; sync across your Chrome profile • sidePanel — show Quick Note in Chrome’s side panel • tabs — open the browser’s extension shortcuts page when you tap “Configure shortcuts” in Settings (chrome://extensions/shortcuts only) PERFECT FOR Quick thoughts, shopping lists, drafts, meeting notes, and personal reminders you want available on every Chrome device you use.
