Backstage for Whatnot: Label Printing, Bins & Sales Tracker
Overview
Whatnot label printer, bin sorter and sales tracker: bin labels print as items sell, each buyer gets a bin, every sale kept by name.
Backstage for Whatnot is the seller toolkit for Whatnot live shows: a label printer, bin sorter and sales tracker in one side panel. It prints a bin label the second an item sells, sorts every buyer into a numbered bin, records every sale by name, reads buyer's choice sizes from chat, works out what each item earned after Whatnot's fees, and hands you a packing manifest when you end the show. One login covers this extension and the native iPad app. The sale fires. Someone just won the navy hoodie. Do you know who? On Whatnot, the show is the easy part. The grind starts after you go offline: going through your video receipts to work out who bought what, hand-writing bin numbers on sticky notes, and shipping from memory at 2 AM. Backstage is the crew behind your camera. You go live like normal. It runs in a side panel next to your Whatnot tab and does the rest. SET UP IN A FEW MINUTES - Set up my show walks you through how you run your show, one stop at a time: giveaways, printing, what's on screen, packing, raids and devices. Every answer saves straight into your settings, and you can skip any stop. WHAT IT DOES DURING YOUR SHOW - Prints a bin label the moment an item sells, once you turn on auto-print (Plus and Pro plans). - Gives every buyer a bin number on their first win; every later win lands in the same bin. - Records every sale live: buyer, item, price and time, for auctions, Buy It Now and flash sales. - Keeps a photo of each item from its auction, so you know exactly what went out. - Buyer's choice: reads the size or color a winner types in chat (XXS to 5XL, plus sizes 1X, 2X and 3X, numbered sizes, or your own options like colors and prints) and puts it on their item. - Saves what each winner says in chat around their win, right on the item, so "which size did you want?" is one tap away. - Flags raids, giveaway winners, tips, first-time buyers and pending payments while they are still in the chat. - Shows what each item earned after Whatnot's fees, not just the hammer price. - Tells you straight away if your internet drops, and again when it's back and caught up. SET A GOAL, THEN SEE HOW YOU DID - Pick tonight's goal on the start card: items, sales or take-home after fees. Beat your last show, beat your best, or set your own. A goal bar keeps score. - Show Wrapped at End Show: buyers, first-time buyers, your best hour, your live streak and any new records. Dollar amounts stay private. - Save a share picture for your feed or story. Counts only, never dollars or buyer names. LABEL PRINTING - A bin label prints the second a buyer wins, on Mac or Windows. - Works with the label printer you already have: add it in your computer's printer settings, the same way you add any printer. - Eight label sizes: 2 x 1, 2 x 2, 3 x 2, 3 x 3, 4 x 2, 4 x 3, 4 x 4 and 4 x 6. - A star for first-time buyers, separate giveaway and pending labels, optional item labels, and your shop name on the label. - Printer off or out of labels? Labels that didn't print are kept at the top of the panel. Tap Print now when it's back, or let them print by themselves (a setting you can turn on). - Change your label size and what prints right on the start card, without opening Settings. - No computer next to you during the show? The Backstage iPad app prints bin labels straight from the iPad, over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. WHAT IT RECORDS, LIVE - Every sale, by name. Not just the @handle: the buyer's first name, the item, the price, the instant it sells. - Repeat buyers, flagged. A buyer's wins stack on one card that counts their whole show, and buyer history follows you across shows. - Tips, raids and giveaways, sorted into their own Shoutouts card so a thank-you never gets lost and a free win never eats a bin number. - A raid is your biggest follower moment and it is gone in seconds. Backstage pops the raider's name so you can thank them before the room scrolls on. HOW IT SORTS THE SHOW WHILE YOU SELL - Bins, assigned automatically. Each buyer keeps the same bin all show. - One card per buyer. Everything they bought, in one place. - A live board for your packer, shared by link, nothing to install. Their bins fill in as items sell, with flags for first-time buyers and unpaid sales. - A pending payment keeps its bin, gets its own label, and stays out of your totals until it clears. - A gentle nudge when the room goes quiet. WHAT YOU GET AT END SHOW - A one-click packing manifest PDF: every buyer, every bin, every item, with totals and buyer's choice sizes, grouped by bin in pull order. - A Photos page with every sold item's photo and what the buyer said in chat, and a Chat page with your whole show's chat, searchable by name. Save either one as a PDF. Your show's chat is kept on this computer only, for 30 days. - Open any of your last 8 shows' manifests again from Past shows. - A show recap with the real net after fees, and tips totaled on their own. - Bin-label PDFs in five formats: letter, Avery 5160 and 5163, and thermal 4 x 6 and 2 x 1, for any printer you already own. These are not Whatnot's shipping labels. Whatnot handles the postage from Seller Hub after the show. Backstage handles the part it does not: who bought what, which bin it is in, and what to pull. MORE ON THE PLUS AND PRO PLANS, SAME LOGIN - The native iPad and iPhone app. The same sales, bins and label printing on the tablet you run your show from, with no computer anywhere. - Prep. List a whole show before you go live: drag a folder of photos in, pick Whatnot's categories, conditions and shipping profiles from the list, bulk-edit, and export a CSV that matches Whatnot's own import template. - Consignment. Tag each item to a consignor; every sale lands on the right person as it sells, the split is worked from what the item really earned after fees, special terms can pay a different split on pricier items, and each consignor gets a free web portal to see what sold and what they are owed. - Prep consigner (Pro). In Prep, mark which consignor an item belongs to, one item or several at once, and its sales count for them with no tag in the title. - Sponsor bookmarks (Pro). When someone buys a "bless the chat" or sponsor item, they land in a Sponsors list. Tap Shows & bookmarks to see their next two shows and bookmark counts, set a goal, and check how many bookmarks your room gave them. One tap copies a thank-you for chat. RIDING A RAID TRAIN? Trains are organized on our partner, Raid Train Express. Paste the train's tracking number or type in your slot, and Backstage counts you down to it. PRICING Every paid plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Lite is browser capture; Plus adds label printing, the iPad app and listing prep; Pro adds consignment. Sidekick is free. Current prices are at backstagelive.app/pricing. A FEW HONEST NOTES - It only works with the Whatnot tab you are viewing. It never signs in as you, never posts, and never touches your stream or your account. - Your captured sales stay yours. Nothing is sold, nothing is tracked for anyone else. - Built by a working Whatnot seller, not affiliated with Whatnot. A real person reads every message, usually the same day. Run the show.
