Overview

Adds game stats, illegal-order warnings, profile stats, themes and much more...

Backstabbr Extras adds quality-of-life features to backstabbr.com, the website for playing the board game Diplomacy online. It works only on backstabbr.com and changes nothing anywhere else. Every feature can be turned on or off individually from the toolbar popup. WHAT IT ADDS Profile stats — on a member profile, adds win/draw/loss rates, a per-country record table (games played, W/D/L, win %, survival %), and highlights like your most-played, strongest and weakest power. Illegal-move warnings — on the board, outlines a province in red if you order something illegal: a move to a province the unit can't reach, a bad coast, a support into a province you're not next to, or a convoy that no fleet is actually carrying. Order drafts — adds "Save Draft" and "Load Draft" next to Update Orders. Save remembers the orders currently on the board, so you can try a completely different set out and put the original one back whenever you want. A unit with no order counts as a hold, so loading a draft also clears anything you added afterwards. Useful in games that adjudicate as soon as everyone has submitted, where you can't safely leave experimental orders sitting on the board. Drafts are kept in your browser only, one per turn, and nothing is sent to Backstabbr until you press Update Orders yourself. Filter history by country — when looking at a past turn of a game or a sandbox, click a country in the map legend to show only that country's orders. Click several to compare a few at a time; with nothing selected every country is shown as usual. Press notes & pins — in a game's Press tab: a private notepad for the whole game, pin important chats to the top, and private notes on each individual chat. Sent-message times — Backstabbr doesn't show when a press message was sent. Every message you send from this browser gets its send time recorded and shown under it, so you can see how long ago you last wrote to someone. Yours only — there is no way to know when anybody else pressed send. Always on, nothing to switch. Auto-save orders — automatically clicks "Update Orders" a moment after you change a move, so your orders are always saved. Only saves the draft, never marks you ready. Off by default. Game stats & export — adds a Stats tab with a supply-centre graph over the whole game (hover for the numbers), a score table by year, and current standings. The graph scales to the highest supply-centre count actually reached, so a game where nobody gets past 8 doesn't get plotted against an empty 18. Export the whole game as HTML or PDF, including every order of every turn and who played what. A checkbox under the export buttons also pulls in every press message from every thread — subject, participants, who said what, in turn order, with your own send times. Works on sandboxes too. Themes — recolour the whole site: Midnight, Crimson, Forest, Royal, Slate, Ember, or the normal Backstabbr look. Plus a troll theme that makes everything go a bit crazy. Bookmarked games — adds a Bookmark button to the top bar on any game, including ones you're not playing in. Bookmarked games get their own "Bookmarked Games" list on your home page, right under the games you're playing, open by default and showing each game's season and next adjudication. Unbuilt units — in the map legend, a power that owns more centres than it has units on the board gets the shortfall in brackets: "France 7 (1)" means seven centres, six units, one build still owed. Powers with everything built are left alone. Handy for spotting who waived a build, and for seeing at a glance what winter is going to look like. Works on past turns and in sandboxes. Tab icons — puts a small icon on each game or sandbox tab (Results, Orders, Press, Info, Sandboxes, Stats). Off by default. PRIVACY The extension does not collect, transmit or sell any data. Settings and notes are stored only on your own device using Chrome's storage. The extension makes requests only to backstabbr.com, to read pages you already have access to, in order to build the statistics shown in the Stats tab. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Backstabbr.
