Backstabbr Extras

Adds game stats, illegal-order warnings, per-country history filtering, private notes, order auto-save and colour themes

Backstabbr Extras adds quality-of-life features to backstabbr.com, the website for playing the board game Diplomacy online. It works only on backstabbr.com and changes nothing anywhere else. Every feature can be turned on or off individually from the toolbar popup. WHAT IT ADDS Game stats and export Adds a "Stats" tab to a game page showing a graph of every power's supply-centre count across the whole game (hover the graph to read the exact numbers for a year), a score table of centres per power per year, and the current standings. The whole game can be exported as an HTML or PDF report containing the graph, the score table, and every order of every turn with its result. Illegal-order warnings While you are entering orders on the game board, the extension outlines a province in red if the order you gave is not legal: a unit ordered somewhere it cannot reach, a fleet sent to the wrong coast, a support for a province the unit is not adjacent to, or an army convoy with no fleet actually carrying it. Profile statistics On a member profile page it adds win, draw and loss rates, a table of that player's record with each of the seven powers (games played, wins, draws, losses, win rate, survival rate), and short highlights such as most-played power and strongest power. Private notes in Press In a game's Press (messaging) tab it adds a private notepad for the game, the ability to pin important conversations to the top of the list, and private notes attached to each individual conversation. These notes are only stored on your own computer and are never sent to anyone. Order drafts Adds Save Draft and Load Draft next to Update Orders, so you can try a completely different set of orders and put the original back. One draft per turn, kept in your browser. Nothing is sent to Backstabbr until you press Update Orders yourself. Filter history by country When looking at a past turn, click a country in the map legend to show only that country's orders. Click several to compare a few at a time; with nothing selected every country is shown as usual. Automatic order saving Optionally clicks the site's own "Update Orders" button shortly after you change an order, so your orders are always saved. It only saves the draft and never marks you as ready. This feature is off by default. Colour themes Recolours the site with a choice of themes (Midnight, Crimson, Forest, Royal, Slate, Ember), plus a joke "troll" theme. The game map's power colours are left untouched so the board stays readable. Tab icons Optionally puts a small icon on each of the game tabs. Off by default. PRIVACY The extension does not collect, transmit or sell any data. Settings and notes are stored only on your own device using Chrome's storage. The extension makes requests only to backstabbr.com, to read pages you already have access to, in order to build the statistics shown in the Stats tab. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Backstabbr.
