Overview
Analyze the privacy of the current website: cookies, trackers, third parties, fingerprinting, storage and security headers.
BackPing Privacy Reporter shows you what the website in the current tab does with your privacy: which trackers and third parties it contacts, which cookies it sets and for how long, whether scripts fingerprint your device, what the page keeps in browser storage, and how its security headers rate. Everything is analyzed inside your browser. The extension makes no network requests of its own, except the two you ask for: • Share sends an anonymized report of the current site to BackPing.net, a public database of website privacy evaluations. Before anything is sent, a dialog lists what the report contains and shows the exact payload: the hostname (never the full address), request counts, the third parties contacted, the names (never the values) of the site's own cookies, the fingerprinting techniques observed, security header values, the consent manager and the page load time. Cookie values, storage contents, your browser settings, cookies of other sites and any identifier of you or your browser are never sent. • Look up fetches the site's community grade from BackPing.net. It sends only the hostname. What you see: • Overview: a privacy score (0–100, graded A–F) with an itemized "why this score", the page load time, the detected consent manager, and what the page did before you answered its cookie banner (trackers contacted and tracking cookies set before consent). • Cookies: every first-party, third-party and partitioned cookie with purpose, vendor, category, lifetime and flags. Delete cookies one at a time or in bulk, or "Test a first visit" to see the site as a new visitor sees it. • Trackers: fingerprinting caught in the act (canvas, WebGL, audio, fonts, WebRTC, battery, client hints, media devices) with the script responsible, plus known trackers and other third parties with company and category. • Storage: localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, Cache Storage and service workers. • Security: HTTPS, mixed content, HSTS, CSP, Referrer-Policy, Permissions-Policy, X-Content-Type-Options, clickjacking protection and COOP. • Export JSON saves a report that is safe to share (no cookie values, no full address). The toolbar badge counts the tracking sites the page contacted. The popup speaks 22 languages. Privacy: the analysis stays on your device (chrome.storage.session, deleted when the tab or browser closes). Nothing leaves your browser unless you press Share or Look up. The only things kept permanently are a developer setting and the version of the data practices you acknowledged, so that the extension can tell you once when what it sends changes. Privacy policy: https://www.backping.net/privacy BackPing.net is a private, non-commercial project. Grades are automated measurements of what users' browsers observed, not a legal assessment of any website.
