Backdropia
Overview
Personalize ChatGPT, Claude, and more with a subtle, non-intrusive doodle background.
Backdropia adds a faint, ambient doodle to the background of your AI chat tabs — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, and more. The doodle is a low-contrast contour sketch derived from a daily source image; it stays in the background and never draws over your text. It is free and does not have ads. TWO MODES • Ink — a quiet monochrome sketch that adapts to light and dark pages. • Color — a muted multi-color palette that shifts with each new source. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Toggle on/off any time. Off means zero interference; nothing is drawn. • Drag the Visibility slider to make the doodle subtler or bolder. The default is tuned to read calm on most pages. • Click ↻ to shuffle to a new source from a curated, weekly-refreshed pool of public-domain Wikimedia Commons images. • Upload your own image. It stays on your device — never uploaded anywhere. Your last three uploads are kept as quiet dots in the popup for one-click recall. • Crop your upload non-destructively. Open the edit view, drag the 16:9 frame to focus on what matters, and apply. The original is always preserved so you can re-crop as many times as you like. PRIVACY IN ONE LINE Backdropia has no server. Your uploads stay on your device. The only network requests go to public Wikimedia hosts to fetch source images. No analytics, no tracking, no account. LIGHTWEIGHT AND SELF-CONTAINED Vanilla JavaScript, no frameworks, no external libraries. The entire image pipeline runs inside your browser via Canvas and standard Web APIs.
