Saved for later doesn't have to mean forgotten forever. Backburner helps you revisit your existing Chrome bookmarks, one at a time, and decide what still deserves your attention. REVISIT AT YOUR OWN PACE Open something interesting, keep it as a reference, leave it for later, or remove what you no longer need. • Keep as reference: no need to ask again for 365 days. • Later: keep that bookmark out of review for at least 14 days. • Stop suggesting: stop future suggestions for that bookmark while leaving it in Chrome. • Remove bookmark: confirm removal after Backburner saves a local recovery copy. Finish whenever it feels enough. There are no fixed session sizes, learned limits, daily quotas or streaks. Continue while eligible bookmarks remain, or finish and come back another time. A FRESH MIX OF BOOKMARKS New reviews mix eligible bookmarks at random, with a gentle preference for older recorded activity. Recent saves can appear too. An unfinished review keeps its saved order. OPTIONAL QUIET REMINDERS Enable reminders to bring an eligible bookmark back without remembering to open Backburner. Backburner attempts at most one notification per seven days, starting after the first week, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. local time. Notifications contain no bookmark titles or URLs. Clicking opens the selected bookmark's review in Backburner, never the website automatically. Chrome and operating-system settings, browser shutdown or device sleep can delay or suppress notifications. Manual review remains available without notification permission. CONFIRMED REMOVAL WITH LOCAL RECOVERY Before removing a bookmark, Backburner saves its title, URL and original location locally. Use Review decisions to restore it or explicitly forget its recovery copy. Restore creates a new bookmark; original IDs and dates are not preserved. Chrome may sync bookmark changes, but Backburner's recovery copies stay on this device. Uninstalling Backburner or clearing extension data permanently erases those copies. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account required to use Backburner. No browsing-history permission, page scanning, analytics service or developer-operated backend. Backburner does not transmit your bookmarks or decisions to its developer. The interface follows your browser's light or dark appearance. No new folders, tags or organization system to maintain.
