AWS Region Guard
Overview
Warns when the AWS Console region doesn't match your saved default for the current account.
Ever run a command, launched an instance or checked a dashboard in the wrong AWS region without noticing? AWS Region Guard watches the console and flags it before it costs or confounds you. Detects the account ID and region straight from the page, no login, no API calls, no external servers. Save a default region per AWS account. Switch to the wrong one and a red banner appears at the top of the page with a one-click button to jump back or update the default. Optional global fallback (e.g. "eu") flags any account that drifts outside a geography, even before you've set a specific default for it. Toolbar badge shows region status at a glance: ✓ match, ! mismatch, blank if nothing's saved yet. Everything is stored locally via chrome.storage — nothing leaves your browser. No account credentials, no network requests, no tracking. Just a nav-bar read and a warning banner.
