The extension retrieves fresh quotes from the official API once a day and caches them, without burdening the website or network. If today’s rate has not yet been loaded, it is requested automatically. • Instant switch of the second foreign currency Directly in the extension interface, you can toggle the second foreign currency between euro and Russian ruble in one motion. For example, from (80 483 р. ≈ 28 600 $ | 24 357 €) to (80 483 р. ≈ 28 600 $ | 2 137 833 ₽). All prices on the site are recalculated instantly without page reload. • Built-in currency converter The extension popup contains a converter supporting 12 currencies: USD, EUR, BYN, RUB, GBP, CNY, PLN, KZT, GEL, UAH, TRY, AED. Convenient input in any field – other currencies are recalculated automatically. Copy any value to the clipboard with a single button. • Compact NBRB rate table The extension popup displays the exchange rates of USD, EUR, and RUB against the Belarusian ruble. Each value can be copied to the clipboard for use in other applications. • Badge with the exchange rate on the toolbar The extension icon always shows the current dollar rate (e.g., “2.81”). In case of problems retrieving the rate, an error indicator is displayed. Pin the extension to the browser toolbar to always see the current dollar rate without opening the extension popup. --- Usability • Smart auto-update - The extension checks the cached rate date every 60 seconds. When the day changes (after midnight), the new rate is loaded automatically – no need to click anything. - If the rate for the current date is already up-to-date, no unnecessary requests are made to the NBRB API during the day. -If an av.by or abw.by page is open at midnight, prices on it will be updated with the new rate automatically without page reload. • Three interface languages Russian, Belarusian, and English. On first launch, the language is detected from the browser language; it can be switched manually. The setting is saved. • Light and dark themes A theme switch allows you to choose a comfortable appearance according to preferences or the system theme. On first install, the theme adapts to system settings. • One-click copy In the rate table and converter, a copy button is next to each value. Clicking copies the number (or full string) to the clipboard. --- Security & Privacy • The extension does not collect or transmit any user data. • All requests are made only to the official API of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (api.nbrb.by). • No information about your actions on av.by and abw.by is tracked or sent anywhere. • Minimal required permissions are used: storage (for caching rates and saving settings), alarms (for daily background refresh), tabs (for instant price updates on open av.by, abw.by tabs and their subdomains when the exchange rate changes), access to api.nbrb.by (for obtaining the latest NBRB rates). PRIVACY NOTE: This extension requests the tabs permission to instantly send the current exchange rate to all open tabs with av.by and abw.by, so that when the exchange rate changes, prices on the open tabs of these sites update automatically without manually reloading the pages. Access to open browser tabs is treated by Chrome as access to browsing history. Therefore, when installing the extension, permission to read browsing history is requested. THE EXTENSION DOES NOT COLLECT, STORE, USE OR TRANSFER YOUR BROWSING HISTORY! This permission is needed only to update data, so that you do not have to manually reload pages of the av.by and abw.by websites to change their prices according to the current exchange rate if they are open at the time of the exchange rate change.
