To employ consciously one’s mental and spiritual abilities to the process of learning, without merely submitting unconsciously to the influence of the material world, is to perform magic. Outside of the meddling hands of the individual, and in the impartial hands of the computer, the High Sciences can bloom free of cynicism and dismissal. The ability of computers to generate true randomness (unreachable for the mere human) creates a magic all of its own quality.
