Adds furigana above Japanese kanji on web pages. Works fully offline with no data collection or internet requests.
AutoFurigana adds reading guides above Japanese kanji, making websites easier to read for Japanese learners and anyone encountering unfamiliar kanji. Automatically adds furigana to Japanese text Works on new text that appears in the page like chatbot answers in japanese (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc..) Understands words and sentences to provide contextual readings Works with pages that load or update content dynamically Adjustable furigana size with a live preview Can be enabled or disabled globally or for individual websites Includes light and dark themes Supports multiple interface languages AutoFurigana works entirely offline. Its package includes the Kuromoji Japanese-language processor and an IPADIC dictionary, which occupies approximately 17 MB inside the unpacked extension. These files are included in the add-on downloaded from Mozilla during installation and updates. AutoFurigana does not download a dictionary or contact an external server while it is running. All Japanese text is processed locally inside Firefox. Page content, browsing activity, settings, and readings are never transmitted by AutoFurigana. There is no analytics, telemetry, advertising, tracking, or data collection. AutoFurigana is developed by TapSolve and released under the MIT License. View the source code on GitHub
