Auto Tab Group Router
Overview
Automatically moves matching URLs into your chosen Chrome Tab Group. Double-click a group name to collapse all the others.
Open a site. It joins your tab group. Chrome's tab groups are great, but dragging every new tab into the right group gets old fast. Register a URL once, and Auto Tab Group Router moves that site into your chosen group the moment it opens. 🚀 How it works (3 steps) 1. Pick a tab group, or choose "+ Create New Tab Group". 2. Enter URL keywords, for example youtube.com. The "+ Current Domain" button fills it in for you. 3. Click "Save & Apply Now". That's it — from now on, that site opens straight into the group. ✨ More features • Double-click a group name to tidy up: double-click a group name in the tab strip to keep only that group open and collapse every other group. A single click works as usual. Perfect when you have lots of groups. • Keyboard shortcut: press Alt(⌥) + Shift + F to keep only the group you're viewing and collapse the rest. (Change it in Chrome's shortcut settings.) • Quiet auto-move: tabs opened in the background never steal your focus. • Accurate domain matching: registering x.com won't catch dropbox.com. Paths (google.com/docs) and wildcards (*.google.com/doc*) are supported too. • Exclusions: skip specific addresses, such as youtube.com/shorts. • Easy editing: drag rules to change their priority, and rename or recolor groups on the spot. Renaming a group in Chrome updates the rule as well. • Right-click menu: right-click a page or link and choose "Add this site to a Tab Group rule". • Pause switch · Focus mode (collapse other groups on auto-move) · Respects tabs you move yourself · Optional sync across devices · Export / import rules 📌 Examples • Video: youtube.com → "YouTube" group • Work: notion.so, docs.google.com → "Work" group • Shopping: amazon.com → "Shopping" group 🔒 Privacy • No sign-up, and no data is sent to any server. • Your rules are stored in your browser (chrome.storage). They are shared through your Google account's Chrome Sync only if you turn on the optional "Sync rules across devices" setting. • The extension never reads page content — it only uses tab addresses and tab group information.
