Overview

Adds a button to YouTube videos to toggle auto-repeat.

Auto Replay for YouTube — What's New in Version 3.1.0 Auto Replay for YouTube adds a simple, reliable Loop button directly to the YouTube player so you can repeat any video — or just the part you care about — without lifting a finger. This release is the biggest update the extension has ever had. We rebuilt it from the ground up to be faster, more reliable, and far more capable, while keeping it just as easy to use. Rebuilt for modern YouTube YouTube is a single-page app: when you click from the home page into a video, the page never fully reloads. Older versions of this extension only set up correctly on a hard refresh, so the Loop button often failed to appear when you navigated normally — the most common way people actually browse. We replaced the old approach with a navigation-aware engine that re-initializes every time you move between videos. Now the Loop control is there when you expect it, whether you open a link directly, click a suggestion, or use the back and forward buttons. One control, done right Previous builds accidentally injected two overlapping sets of controls that fought each other and could get out of sync. We consolidated everything into a single, clean control with one source of truth. A watchdog quietly keeps the button in place even if YouTube rebuilds its player bar (for example when entering the mini-player), and it can never leave behind duplicate or stranded controls. Repeat the whole video — or a section Choose how you loop: - Whole video: one click and your video repeats endlessly. For continuous repeat we use the browser's native looping, which is smooth and avoids the end-screen flash you may have seen before. - A–B section loop: set a start (A) and an end (B) and the player will loop just that segment. Perfect for practicing a passage of music, studying a phrase in another language, rehearsing dance choreography, or rewatching a favorite moment. You can capture the current time into A or B with a single click, or type the timestamps yourself. If you happen to set the end before the start, the extension now handles it gracefully and loops the region correctly instead of freezing — one of several reliability fixes in this release. Loop a set number of times Don't want an endless loop? Set a loop count and the video will repeat exactly that many times, then stop on its own. Leave it blank for infinite repeat. Shareable loop links Enable a loop and the extension encodes it into the page URL. Copy the link and send it to a friend; when they open it, your exact loop — including the A–B section and repeat count — activates automatically. It's a simple way to share "watch this part, on repeat" without extra instructions. A real popup and a keyboard shortcut The toolbar popup is now a working control panel. Open it to toggle repeat, switch between whole-video and section modes, set your A and B points, and choose a loop count — all synced live with the video you're watching. Prefer the keyboard? A configurable shortcut toggles repeat instantly, and the toolbar icon shows an ON badge so you always know the current state at a glance. Markers on the progress bar show exactly where your A–B section begins and ends. Faster and lighter The old version ran a timer a hundred times every second for the entire life of the tab, even when looping was off. The new engine is event-driven: it does work only when something actually happens, such as a video reaching your end point. That means less wasted CPU, better battery life on laptops, and no needless background activity. Your settings, remembered Your preferred mode and loop count are saved and restored, so the extension works the way you like each time — no need to reconfigure it for every video. Accessible and polished The Loop button now carries proper labels and pressed-state information for screen readers and can be operated from the keyboard. The interface adapts to light and dark themes and stays out of your way until you need it. Private by design This extension does not track you, show ads, or collect your browsing data. It requests only the minimum access needed to add the Loop button to YouTube pages and to save your preferences. There are no accounts, no analytics, and nothing to sign up for. A cleaner, more trustworthy build Under the hood we removed dead code and leftover packaging files, tidied the manifest, and fixed a long-standing issue where the extension's styles could unintentionally affect YouTube's own layout. The result is a smaller, safer, more maintainable extension. Thank you Auto Replay for YouTube is built to do one thing extremely well: put you in control of what repeats and when. If this update helps you practice, study, relax, or simply enjoy a favorite clip again and again, we'd love a quick rating — it genuinely helps other people discover the extension. Enjoy the loop!
