Overview

Passwords, passkeys and 2FA codes in one encrypted vault that stays on your computer.

AuthRing keeps your passwords, passkeys and two-factor codes in one encrypted vault on your own computer. There is no account to create and no server: nothing you store leaves your device. PASSWORDS • Fills logins from a small menu under the field. • Offers to save new logins, and to update changed passwords, after you sign in. • Password and passphrase generator. • Import from a browser password export (CSV) or another password manager's JSON export. PASSKEYS • Creates and uses passkeys on sites that support them, so you sign in without a password. • Shows your passkeys right in the sign-in field where sites support it. • "Use another device" hands any request back to the browser, for your phone or security key. TWO-FACTOR CODES • Replaces your authenticator app. Add a code by scanning the QR code on the page, from a screenshot, with your webcam, or by typing the secret. • Link a code to the field it belongs in, and AuthRing fills it automatically next time. • Show any code's secret or QR code again to set it up on another device, after re-entering your master password. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Encrypted with AES-256-GCM, using a key derived from your master password with Argon2id. • A one-time recovery key gets you back in if you forget your master password. • Locks automatically after inactivity and when your computer locks. • No analytics, no telemetry, no network requests. • Optional: share one vault between your browser profiles on the same computer, with a small local helper. ONE PASSWORD MANAGER • Optionally turn off the browser's own password saving and form autofill, and other password-manager extensions. The browser asks for your permission first.
