Audit Lens — WCAG Quick Scan
Overview
One-click axe-core WCAG 2.1 AA check of the current page. Finds common issues; automated checks are partial, not a certification.
**Find accessibility issues on any page, in one click — without sending a single byte of that page anywhere.** Audit Lens runs axe-core, the widely used open-source accessibility testing engine, directly against the page you're currently looking at. Click "Scan," get a severity-sorted list of WCAG 2.1 A/AA issues in seconds — right in the popup, with no sign-up and no account required to start scanning. **What it does** - **One-click scan** of the active tab — press the button, get results. No configuration, no setup. - **WCAG 2.1 A/AA ruleset** via the vendored axe-core engine (bundled in the extension, never loaded from a CDN). - **Severity-sorted results** — critical, serious, moderate, minor — so you know what to look at first. - **Self-contained HTML report export** *(Pro)* — a shareable, offline-readable report with inline styling, a print stylesheet, and per-issue detail including code snippets and target selectors. - **Nothing leaves your browser.** Scan results, page content, and page URLs are never transmitted anywhere. The only network call the extension ever makes is a license check when you activate Pro — see the privacy policy for exactly what that sends. - **No account needed to scan.** The Free tier works immediately, with no sign-up. A license key is only needed to unlock report export. **Honest about what automated scanning can and can't do** Automated accessibility tools are a useful first pass, not the whole picture. **Automated testing detects roughly 30–40% of WCAG success criteria; manual review with assistive technology is required; results are not a legal compliance certification.** Audit Lens puts that disclaimer directly in every report it generates, because a tool that overstates what it found isn't useful to you — it's a liability. We'd rather you trust the tool than oversell it. Audit Lens scans the top-level document only in this version; content inside iframes is not included in the scan, and the report footer says so explicitly. **Free vs. Pro** - **Free** — unlimited scans, with every issue the scan reported shown in the popup (nothing withheld), no account required. - **Pro** — everything in Free, plus exporting the self-contained HTML report for sharing or record-keeping. Pro is license-key activated, capped at a small number of seats per key. Prices are never shown inside the extension; the current plan and price are shown on the purchase page. **Permissions, in short** Audit Lens requests `activeTab`, `scripting`, `storage`, and `alarms` — nothing more. No `host_permissions`, no `tabs` permission, no content scripts, no remote code. Full justification for each permission is published alongside this listing. --- *Audit Lens is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by Deque Systems, the W3C, or any accessibility standards body. axe-core is used under its MPL-2.0 license; the full license text ships inside the extension package.*
