Overview
Turning audio into a first-class citizen in your personal knowledge workflow.
AudioBridge is a browser extension that helps users prepare, process, and organize their own audio recordings for transcription and downstream AI workflows, using user-provided LLM and transcription API credentials. Many recording devices and platforms provide built-in transcription features. However, some users prefer to use their own AI accounts, process multiple files at once, export results into external systems, or integrate audio data into their existing knowledge bases. AudioBridge is designed to support these workflows while giving users greater transparency, flexibility, and control — without introducing vendor lock-in. Key capabilities include: • Assist users in preparing and processing their own PLAUD audio recordings for transcription and summarization workflows using user-provided OpenAI-compatible or Gemini-compatible APIs • Support batch handling of common audio formats such as MP3, WAV, and M4A • Allow users to configure customizable processing pipelines, including transcription, summarization, and export steps • Generate LLM-friendly outputs suitable for downstream analysis and knowledge management • Optionally export processed transcripts and summaries to user-controlled destinations such as Google Drive • No built-in transcription service, no mandatory subscriptions, and no server-side dependency • No collection, resale, or monetization of user data How it works: The user selects or adds one or more audio recordings they own within a supported interface The extension prepares the files and initiates user-configured processing steps using the user’s own API credentials Results such as transcripts or summaries are returned by third-party AI services and made available to the user, optionally alongside the original recordings or exported to external tools AudioBridge does not operate its own transcription or AI service. Audio files, transcripts, and summaries are not stored on developer-controlled servers. All processing is explicitly initiated by the user and performed using third-party APIs under the user’s control. Privacy and data usage: • AudioBridge does not collect personal data • Audio files are accessed only when the user initiates a workflow • API credentials are provided, stored, and managed locally by the user • Processed outputs remain under the user’s control • Users are responsible for ensuring their API usage complies with applicable third-party service terms Note: Some functionality requires access to a user’s own PLAUD account and existing recordings in order to demonstrate supported workflows. Results depend on the availability and behavior of third-party services selected by the user. AudioBridge is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to any hardware manufacturers, recording platforms, or AI service providers. This extension is intended for users who want greater control over how their audio recordings are prepared, processed, and integrated into their own AI-powered workflows.
