Audio Grabber
Overview
Keep the sound, skip the picture: save audio as MP3, M4A, OPUS or WAV at up to 320 kbps, artwork and tags included.
🎧 Audio Grabber — turn the thing you are watching into an MP3 you keep A lot of what people watch is really something they listen to: a DJ set, a two-hour interview, the lecture that matters again the week before an exam. This extension lifts the sound out of a supported video page and drops a finished file in your downloads folder — an MP3 by default, or one of three other formats — named after the track, tagged, with cover art where the page supplies it. No website to visit, no address to paste. Press the toolbar button on the page you were already watching, say how you want the file, and that is the whole interaction. 🎛️ THE PANEL, TOP TO BOTTOM Everything fits in one small window, and this is all of it: • Format row — four buttons: MP3, M4A, OPUS, WAV. Tap one and it stays chosen next time. • Bitrate — 128, 192, 256 or 320 kbps for MP3, M4A and OPUS. • Trim fields — a start and an end, both optional. Only that stretch is fetched: one chorus of a nine-minute live version, or four minutes of a long interview. • Playlist switch — appears when the page holds a list, then works down it track by track, each file named and tagged on its own. • Progress line — a live percentage and a rough time remaining, so a long recording is never a blank wait. The panel opens with the audio option already selected. No accounts, no wizard. 🎯 WHICH FORMAT, IF YOU HAVE NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT Choose by where the file is going next: • Has to play on absolutely anything — car stereo, hand-me-down player, cheap earbuds with a card slot? Take the MP3. • Everything you own has an apple on the back? M4A, a little more efficient at the same bitrate. • Phone nearly full, forty episodes to carry? OPUS, the smallest file for a given quality. • Going into a video or music editor? WAV — uncompressed, heavy, not meant for the bus. Compressed formats top out at 320 kbps, though no bitrate can rescue a thin source recording. 📦 WHAT ACTUALLY LANDS IN YOUR DOWNLOADS FOLDER Not video_final_2: the file takes its name from the original title, so a folder that fills up over a month stays organized on its own. Where the page supplies them, title, artist and cover image are written inside the file — which is why an MP3 opened on a phone shows a real square and a real name instead of a gray box and the word "unknown". Artwork rides along in MP3, M4A and OPUS files; WAV has nowhere to store it, a limit of that format rather than of this extension. 🌐 IF YOU HAVE BEEN PASTING LINKS INTO CONVERTER PAGES That routine has a lot of steps. Copy the address. Open another tab. Find the box, paste, wait behind a queue, then work out which of the four flashing buttons is the real one. If you have been pasting links into converter sites, this does the same job without any of it: the button is on the page you were already on, and the MP3 is simply there when it is done. Audio Grabber is an independent tool built by our own small team. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any converter website, and it is not connected to any video platform. 🖱️ FIVE STEPS, START TO FINISH 1️⃣ Open the supported page that has the audio you want. 2️⃣ Click the Audio Grabber icon in your toolbar; the panel opens ready to go. 3️⃣ Pick a format — MP3 unless you have a reason not to — plus a bitrate, and trim points if you only need a slice. 4️⃣ Press the download button and watch the percentage climb. 5️⃣ The finished file appears in your downloads folder, ready for any player, online or off. ☁️ YOUR LAPTOP STAYS QUIET The converting is done by our servers rather than on your machine, so a three-hour recording will not heat up a laptop or freeze the tab it came from. A transfer that hits a hiccup is retried on its own, and every finished file is deleted from our side shortly after it reaches you. Between clicks the extension does nothing at all: no background job, no timer. ❓ QUICK ANSWERS Do I need an account? No. Install it, open a page, press the button. Is this a converter site in extension form? No — separate tool, separate team, no connection to any converter site. Where does the finished MP3 go? To your normal downloads folder, with everything else you save. Why is my WAV file so enormous? WAV is uncompressed by definition; the same audio saved as an MP3 is a fraction of the size. Does it work on subscription film and TV services? No — those streams are encrypted and out of reach by design. May I use what I save however I like? That is between you and the rights holder: keep what is yours or what you have permission to keep. 💎 FREE, AND PAID ONLY IF YOU WANT MORE A set number of downloads is free, enough to learn whether this fits the way you work. After that, an optional Premium upgrade lifts the limit. The price is on screen before anything is charged, nothing is billed quietly in the background, and free downloads you have not spent stay yours whether you upgrade or not. 🔐 WHAT LEAVES YOUR BROWSER Sent to our servers when you press download: • A random installation ID — a number made at install time, tied to no name and no email • The address of the page you chose to save • Your IP address and plain counters, such as how many files you have made Those exist for rate limiting, reliability and keeping the service from being abused. Not collected: your browsing history, your other tabs, what you type, your microphone, your screen. The extension acts only where you press the button yourself. Premium payments go through our billing provider. What is stored, how long it is kept and who processes it are set out in the Privacy Policy, linked from this listing and from the settings page. ✅ AT A GLANCE ✅ Audio saved from the page you are on, in a single click ✅ Four formats — MP3, M4A, OPUS and WAV — at up to 320 kbps ✅ Title, artist and cover art embedded in MP3, M4A and OPUS files ✅ Trim to the exact section, or take a playlist track by track ✅ Converting handled by our servers, not by your computer ✅ Files cleared from our side soon after they reach you ✅ Ten interface languages, on Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera and Vivaldi ✅ Free downloads to begin with, optional Premium if you need more Install Audio Grabber, and the parts you actually listen to become MP3 files you keep instead of videos you never rewatch.
