Attention Budget makes each new piece of YouTube content a conscious choice. - Set a video-count budget, watch-time budget, or both. - Use a rolling 24-hour window rather than a midnight reset. - Pause new videos before they enter the budget. - Whitelist videos you watch often, such as music, so they use neither budget. - Ask an accountability partner to hold the strict-mode PIN. - Replace the recommendation feed with search, Watch Later, subscriptions, and history through optional Minimal YouTube / Human curation mode. - Keep all settings and history local to the browser.
