Overview
Give good writing the focus it deserves. This extension saves the page you are reading into your private Atlas Reader library.
Atlas Reader is a private reading library for the things worth keeping. Save an article and it becomes one quiet page: the title, the author, and the words. No navigation, no newsletter prompts, no related-content rails, no recommendations pulling you somewhere else. Your library is yours, and nothing in it competes for your attention. The things worth reading deserve more than an open tab. This extension is how you put things there. When you are reading something you want to keep, press the Atlas Reader button and the piece is saved to your library, ready to read properly later. It works with an Atlas Reader account at atlasreader.com. WHAT IT SAVES • The page you are looking at, at the moment you press the button. • A reading copy taken from that page: title, author, and the text itself. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO • It has no access to any page until you press the button, and none afterwards. It does not run in the background. • It does not read your browsing history, watch pages you have not saved, or follow you between sites. • It carries no advertising and no analytics. • It never recommends anything at you. PIECES BEHIND YOUR OWN SIGN-IN Some publications render only part of a piece before the page finishes loading, and some send the whole text while displaying a shortened version. When the visible text is unusually short, the extension asks for the same page address a second time — the identical URL, in your own browser, using the session you are already signed in with — and keeps whichever version is more complete. It uses no alternative endpoint, no reader-mode service, and no archive site, and your cookies are never sent to or stored by Atlas Reader. It saves what your own browser was served. If you are not entitled to read something, this extension will not get it for you. CONNECTING The extension connects to your Atlas Reader account once, using a credential belonging to that browser installation alone. You approve the connection yourself, and you can revoke it whenever you like in Atlas Reader settings.
