Highlight a word or sentence on any page and ask an LLM about it, using your own API key.

Askr explains text on any web page and answers your questions about it, using an AI provider and API key that you choose. How to use it: • Double-click a word or select some text, then click Explain or Ask. • Or right-click a selection and choose "Explain with Askr" or "Ask Askr about…". • Ask follow-up questions in the same tooltip. Highlighted passages stay marked, so you can reopen a conversation until you reload the page. Bring your own key: • Works with most popular AI providers, and with a model running on your own computer. • Save several keys. If one provider is busy or unreachable, Askr can automatically try the next. Private by design: • No account, no server, no tracking. Askr sends text only when you click Explain or Ask, and only to the provider you set up. • Your keys are stored on your own computer.
