Chat with your Box knowledge base from any tab.

Your Box account is full of answers — buried in PDFs, docs, and notes you don't have time to reopen. Ask Box turns that folder into a knowledge base you can talk to, from any tab, without leaving what you're working on. Connect your Box account once, and Ask Box automatically indexes the files in your Box folder. Then just ask: "What did we agree on pricing in the vendor contract?", "Summarize the onboarding doc", "Which files mention the Q3 launch?" — and get direct answers drawn from your actual documents, not generic guesses. WHY INSTALL IT • Stop re-reading documents to find one detail. Ask the question; get the answer with the source it came from. • Your knowledge follows you. Open the side panel next to whatever you're doing — email, tickets, code review — and query your Box without switching context. • Zero setup beyond logging in. New files added to Box are picked up and indexed automatically; deleted files drop out of the index on their own. • See what the assistant knows. The Files tab shows your real Box folder structure and the live indexing status of every file. HOW IT WORKS 1. Click the Ask Box icon and connect your Box account (secure OAuth — we never see your password). 2. Your documents are indexed automatically: text is extracted (including scanned PDFs) and made searchable by meaning, not just keywords. 3. Ask questions in the Chat tab. Answers are grounded in the content of your files. WORKS WITH YOUR BROWSER Opens as a side panel in Chrome and Edge so it can stay open beside your work, and as a compact popup in browsers without side panel support (like Arc). You can switch modes anytime in Settings. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Ask Box does not read, track, or collect your browsing activity — it has no access to the pages you visit. • Your Box credentials stay with Box; the extension holds only a signed session token. • Disconnect anytime from Settings, and reconnecting takes one click. Install Ask Box, connect your folder, and start asking your documents questions instead of hunting through them.
