Overview

Send supported files and media links from Chrome to the AshVid desktop app.

AshVid Companion connects Browser to the AshVid desktop download manager. When you choose to download supported media or files, the extension detects available download options and sends your selection to the AshVid desktop app installed on your computer. Downloads are processed locally through AshVid. Features: • Detect supported downloadable files and media • Display available video quality options • Send downloads directly to the AshVid desktop app • Support embedded media players and streaming formats • Enable or disable AshVid controls per website • Keep download processing on your device Requirements: The AshVid desktop app must be installed. Open it once after installation so the local companion service can be registered. AshVid Companion is intended only for content you own, have permission to download, or are legally authorized to save. It does not bypass DRM, subscriptions, authentication, or website access controls. Privacy: The extension communicates with the AshVid desktop app through Chrome native messaging and a local service at 127.0.0.1. It does not sell browsing data or use browsing activity for advertising.
