Ashesi Canvas Digest Your semester, in one calm place. Ashesi Canvas Digest is an independent, unofficial study companion for Canvas at ashesi.instructure.com. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Ashesi University or Instructure. Canvas gives you everything. Ashesi Canvas Digest helps you focus on what matters now — what is due, what to read, what you haven’t completed, and what realistically fits into the time you have. Everything you need to stay on track Today Build a realistic study plan around your available time. Set how many minutes you have, estimate your tasks, and immediately see what fits. Assignments See instructions, rubrics and deadlines together. Keep your own private checklist and notes alongside each assignment and refresh when you need the latest instructor feedback. This Week See study time and deadlines together so busy days don’t surprise you. Export your schedule to your calendar using .ics. Library Search across assignments, course materials, announcements, syllabi, notes and saved analyses. Bookmark important material for later. Practice Turn course material into practice questions, answer from memory and rate yourself. Spaced review helps schedule when to revisit a topic. Inbox Understand messages with their course context and open full threads when needed. Viewing a thread in Ashesi Canvas Digest does not mark it as read in Canvas. Notebook Keep simple, distraction-free notes and export them as Markdown. Side Panel Access your workspace while using Canvas without constantly switching tabs. The interface is designed specifically for Chrome’s narrower side-panel experience. Read-only, by design Ashesi Canvas Digest does not submit assignments, post replies, mark Canvas messages as read, or change your Canvas settings. Checking off a task inside the extension records your personal progress only. It is not a Canvas submission. AI is optional — and off by default Optional AI tools can help explain material, generate practice questions and suggest checklists using sources you choose. AI features remain off until you enable them. Inbox analysis requires separate permission, and you can inspect the excerpts before they are sent for analysis. AI-generated answers are grounded in the source material provided to them. Your lecturer’s original instructions and official Canvas content always remain the authority. Your data stays with you Your tasks, notes, bookmarks and review schedules are stored in your browser and associated with your Canvas account. No separate sign-up. No advertising. No analytics. No tracking. Nothing sold. There is no cross-device sync. You can export or delete your stored data whenever you want from Settings.
