ASA Bridge for Gemini

Requires the Gemini_ASA desktop app. Adds an in-page widget / toolbar icon for archiving Gemini conversations to local files.

IMPORTANT: This extension does not work on its own. It requires the Gemini_ASA desktop app (AI Session Archiver). ASA Bridge for Gemini is a companion extension for the Gemini_ASA desktop app. HOW IT WORKS This extension shows a small floating widget on gemini.google.com, and also provides Save / Preferences buttons in the toolbar-icon popup. Click Save (on the widget or in the popup) to capture a snapshot of your current Gemini conversation and relay it to the Gemini_ASA desktop app via localhost. If the desktop app is not running, the extension automatically launches it through Chrome's Native Messaging Host. Your conversation data stays on your machine and is never sent to external servers. REQUIREMENTS - Gemini_ASA desktop app must be installed on your PC (one-time setup registers the Native Messaging Host) - The extension auto-launches the app on demand; no manual app startup needed - The app listens on localhost (127.0.0.1) for snapshot requests - Product information for the desktop app: https://github.com/jellycotton/AI-Session-Archiver WHAT ASA DOES WITH YOUR CONVERSATIONS - Saves conversations as local files - Lets you add custom titles and tags - Multiple save methods to handle long conversations - Supports 4 output formats: HTML, plain text, Markdown, and PDF PRIVACY This extension reads conversation content on gemini.google.com only when you click Save (on the in-page widget or in the toolbar-icon popup), and relays the captured snapshot to the Gemini_ASA desktop app via localhost (127.0.0.1). When the conversation contains images, the extension downloads those image files from Google's image servers (lh3.google.com / *.googleusercontent.com) so they can be saved into your local archive; this only reads images already shown in the page and sends no conversation data to those servers. The extension may also send a launch request to the desktop app through Chrome's Native Messaging Host; this request carries no conversation data. No conversation data is transmitted to any external server. All conversation data stays between this extension and the Gemini_ASA desktop app running on your own PC.
