Art New Tab: Museum Paintings by Artnap

A public domain painting from a museum collection in every new tab, full screen.

Open a new tab and see a painting, full screen. Artnap New Tab replaces the empty new tab page with one painting from a museum collection, filling the whole screen. Its title, artist and year sit in one quiet line at the bottom left. What you get A different painting each time you open a tab: landscapes, seascapes and city views in wide format, at least 1920 pixels wide. Only public domain works from museum collections such as the Art Institute of Chicago, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art and the Rijksmuseum. "See on Artnap" opens the painting's page on artnap.com, with the full record and the large image. A Next button (or the right arrow key) when you want another painting. The title line and the two buttons stay faint until you move the mouse over them. Fast and private Paintings are cached on your computer, so a new tab opens quickly. No account, no sign-in, no ads, no tracking. The extension does not read your browsing history or your tabs, and asks for no browser permissions. It only talks to artnap.com, to check for a fresh selection of paintings about twice a day, and to img.artnap.com for the pictures. About Artnap Artnap (artnap.com) is an archive of public domain art from museums and libraries.
