Overview

Make Canvas yours: themes, dark mode, one to-do list, your timetable, grades, plus flashcards and practice exams for your next test.

Armin is a Chrome extension for Canvas that organizes your assignments, classes, and grades while making Canvas easier to use. Customize your dashboard with themes and dark mode, keep deadlines together, and study from your course materials. GET STARTED IN A MINUTE 1. Install Armin. A Welcome page opens. 2. Pick your school and its learning system. If your school's Canvas is on an instructure.com address or on Armin's list of schools, Armin starts on its own. 3. Canvas on your school's own address? Click the Armin button in Chrome's toolbar and choose "Use Armin on" your school's site. Chrome asks you to allow that one site. Just looking? The Welcome page has a built-in demo: a sample student at a made-up school, with no account and no school needed. Your school uses Brightspace, Moodle, Blackboard or Google Classroom? Leave your email on the Welcome page and Armin tells you when it works there. ONE LIST OF EVERYTHING DUE • Every course's assignments, quizzes and tests by due date, on the Canvas dashboard and in the toolbar popup • Gradescope and WileyPLUS homework in the same list, read with the sign-ins you already have. Homework in other tools (WebAssign, MyLab, Connect, Achieve, zyBooks) shows from its Canvas assignment, labelled with the tool • Your own tasks, with repeats and colours • Chrome reminders when something is due today or tomorrow YOUR WEEK AND YOUR TIMETABLE • Today and This week: your classes with rooms and what to do before each one • Bring your timetable in from your school's student system: the calendar file from Workday, Banner or PeopleSoft, ACORN at the University of Toronto, a Google, Outlook or Apple calendar link, or your Canvas calendar feed • Or add classes by hand GRADES THAT ADD UP • Each part's weight, read from the course outline • A calculator for the final: "To get a B+ you need 74% on the final" • New marks and comments as they come in STUDY FOR YOUR NEXT TEST Sign in to Armin (free) and it prepares for your next test on its own. It finds the test on your syllabus and what it covers, then gets flashcards and exam-style practice questions ready from those lectures' slides. • Flashcards that come back when you're about to forget them • Practice questions, and practice exams modeled on a real past exam from your course: the same format and difficulty, all new questions, marked with feedback on each topic • Ask my course: ask anything, and the answer comes from your own slides and readings with citations to the page it used • Notes for each lecture: key points, terms and formulas, each linked to its slide • An exam plan for each test, a past papers finder and your weak spots Armin is free. A free account includes 20 Ask my course questions and 3 study sets a month, one practice exam a term, and notes for your latest lecture. HOW THE AI TOOLS USE YOUR DATA AI features send the text of the course files you study from (and any note photos you add, or page images of a past exam you practise from) to Armin's service and to Anthropic (Claude) to make the answer. They are sent without your name or email address. Nothing is sent until you sign in and use an AI feature. AI answers can be wrong: check what matters against your course materials, and follow your course's rules on AI use. MAKE CANVAS YOURS • Themes from "Canvas as it is" to dark ones like Midnight, or your own colours • Dark mode that follows your computer or switches on at night • Course cards your way: a colour, gradient, pattern or picture for each course • Hide the parts of Canvas you never use • Share your look with friends with a short code PRIVACY What Armin reads from Canvas, Gradescope and WileyPLUS stays in your browser. It uses the sign-ins you already have, so it never sees a password. Nothing goes to Armin's service unless you sign in and use AI features, share a look or turn on phone sync, or you leave your email on the Welcome page. No ads, no analytics, nothing sold. Full policy: https://api.getarmin.com/armin/privacy Always check your school's Canvas for the dates and grades that count. Armin is an independent project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Instructure, the maker of Canvas, or by any school, Gradescope, Wiley or Macmillan. Canvas is a trademark of Instructure, Inc.
