The extension detects personally identifiable information (PII), credentials, API keys, confidential business data, and other configurable sensitive content locally within your browser. Protected values are replaced with deterministic placeholders before a prompt is transmitted to the AI service. Responses are then restored locally, allowing users to continue working without changing their workflow. How ARKN Works You write a prompt in a supported AI application. ARKN detects configured sensitive information locally. Sensitive values are replaced with secure placeholders. The protected prompt is sent to the AI provider. Responses are restored locally inside your browser. At no point does ARKN require access to your original prompt contents for processing. Permissions ARKN requests access only to supported AI websites (such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini) so it can detect and protect sensitive information before prompts are submitted. Browser storage is used only for local extension functionality, including temporary placeholder mappings required to restore protected values. Sensitive prompt contents are not transmitted to ARKN servers.
