Arcium

Arc-like anchored tabs for Chrome's native vertical tabs.

Arcium gives selected tabs a stable Home inside Chrome's own Vertical Tabs and Tab Groups. It does not draw a replacement sidebar. Every row remains a real Chrome tab, so Chrome keeps control of native grouping, multi-selection, dragging, windows, and the Vertical Tabs UI. Chrome has no API for adding a badge to an individual native tab row. Arcium uses a reversible favicon-composition trick instead: it preserves the recognisable website icon and overlays a small Home, Away, or Sleeping marker that Chrome displays inside its own row. Anchor a grouped tab and Arcium remembers its exact URL, keeps Anchors together at the start of the group, and shows whether each one is at Home or Away. After following links or navigating elsewhere, return to the saved Home URL from the toolbar, popup, or keyboard shortcut. Put an Anchor to sleep to unload its page while keeping the same native row, group, position, and recognisable site favicon. Select the sleeping row and Arcium wakes it at Home. By default, an individually closed Anchor is restored as a sleeping row; this behavior can be turned off. Use Arcium's Duplicate shortcut to fork an Anchor beside its source. A duplicate made while Home keeps the saved Home; one made while Away uses the exact current page as its own Home. The two Anchors are independent. Regular tabs still duplicate normally, and Chrome's built-in Duplicate is not intercepted. Anchor state and exact Home URLs are stored separately from that visual marker in trusted extension storage on your device. There is no account. On Chrome 150 and later, right-click any tab for native Arcium actions. Anchor or remove tabs, return them Home, sleep or wake them, or make their current URLs the new Homes. When the clicked tab belongs to a multi-tab selection, Arcium processes that selection as one predictable batch; otherwise it touches only that tab.
